Black Tea by Upton Tea Imports

The bold, wiry leaf of this selection yields a medium-dark liquor. The aroma is clean and fresh, with notes of orange and other citrus. The cup is bright and gently pungent.

This smells like citrus and berry.
It’s infuses to a medium orange-brown color, aroma, and flavor. The black tea base is gentle yet flavorful and a bit creamy, too. It’s quite juicy and very soothing!

This is a sample from Upton that I am brewing for iced tea. I am using very generous amounts of leaf and brewing it in my porcelain teapot. It’s always nice to have some cold tea on hand to consume at a moments notice. Most will go into a gallon glass jug but of course i have to have a hot cup from both steepings to taste. It is slightly pungent and very light even with the amount of leaf. Not my cup of tea. Maybe when the tea cools down it will improve. I hope…. Well it did. I let the third steep stew. It has potential. I am sure after last nights lovely ‘98 Pu’er nothing would taste good. I had to up the score.

The last of my sample from Upton was cold brewed for 48 hours. It was fruity and delicious. I have to venture into Indian teas. Any suggestions? PS, I upped the score….
