And you just wish there was more flavor there- not so with this tea.

I really enjoyed the strong-for-a-white tea vibe and would definitely have this one again.
Brews up just like a light green tea, tasted fantastic. Prob one of my favorite unflavored white teas yet.

This is enjoyable. I steeped it for the recommended 3 mins as I have a massive headache and was not feeling the gongfu mojo. As such this review shall be brief and edited over time (I have enough for one or two more samples).

Smell is very familiar, reminding me of the white Darjeeling, but I can’t be sure. Leaves are very unfamiliar, I really only have experience with variations on silver needle so very spring green leaves amongst the buds was most welcome though there are also brown bits and scraggly bits and choppy bits. Smell of brewed leaves and liquor is familiar as well, sweet artichoke, that is probably not at all close to artichoke but it comes to mind. Taste is all nectar and grain though after reading the brief description melon and but certainly fit the bill.

There is something similar to Upton’s Downy White Pekoe Yin Zhen which I did go ahead and finish up western style the other day, that says not quite top quality. Maybe it’s in the floaty bits or the dull brown bits but it translates to the cup and while it’s not poor quality and still enjoyable, I’m not blown away. But I’m cranky right now and am going to withhold rating.

Drinking the last of this nearly a month later: first steep is definitely melon with some herb, second steep is totally green beans, I should know, I’m eating some for lunch ;)

Trying this one gongfu style for a change up.

Very vegetal. Quite pleasant.

Second steep is even stronger vegetal flavors and starting a hint of bitterness. Still nice, though.

Third steep and not any noticeable change. This seems a pretty one-taste-tea, though I’m going to steep it a few more times.

It is quite tasty if you like those vegetal tastes to your whites.

I’m on my iPad so can’t really do the rating and time and such with those darn drag lines, so: a rating of 50-60, 25sec steeps, water of 180 degrees.

This is the first non-flavored white that I have ever had. I expected it to be bland, but it is surprisingly complex despite being smooth and mild. I over-steeped it a bit which gave it a wisp of acidity, but still quite pleasant. It is a bit green and vegetal on smelling which gives way to a toasty caramelness and finishes bright with a bit of citrus and graperfruit. A truly lovely tea with a nice element of umami.

The look of the leaves is interesting and more herbal looking. Bright green leaves interspersed with darker bits and smaller pieces. Pale liquor with a nice punch though.
