Tropical Blend Black Tea (TE66)

Another of the teas from my swap with Azzrian.

I got home from a morning bike ride to my barre class, then some farmer’s market shopping yesterday, and kinda hit a wall. Ok, time for black tea. I though this might go well considering it was a nice warm day. Made up my cup, being careful to not steep for too long. The tropical scent was detectable in the dry leaves, but not overpowering. But after steeping, I’m afraid I couldn’t really taste too much tropical. The taste was definitely of the black base. But it was lovely! A nice soft black, absolutely no bitterness, with just a lovely, soft, very drinkable taste. I know, not very helpful, might need another cup to get more detail on the flavour notes.

So still enjoyable, just not very tropical.

Not bad but was hoping for stronger fruity or citrusy flavours. It smells good but when brewed I got the same vibe I get from some black flavored teas sometimes- lots of good base tea flavor but not enough fruit, overpowered somewhat by a strong tea base. Good, but not over the top flavoursome.

I can smell the tropical fruit in this before, during, and after the infusion. The coloring of the liquid is a medium brown with orange hues. I can taste more floral than fruit but you can still tell the fruit is there…enough to make it sweet…but the aftertaste goes more back towards the floral linger. This is fairly good.

Nice black tea base with strong tropical fruit flavors. Great when iced and mixed with Upton’s Mango Indica.
