I’ve been looking for a nice herbal that’s relaxing and tasty enough that my husband won’t make a face when I try to share my tea with him. Since he loves lemon, I figured this would work. And it does! He enjoys it! Some guests of ours were pleasantly surprised as well. They had never heard of lemon grass.

It develops this smell that reminds me of green onion? or something that seems savory… But it’s not very noticeable. The second steep smells more strongly of it than the first, but they are both pleasant.

I can’t wait to mix this with some spearmint or peppermint. Nobody around here likes mint except for me. :( It was a hit when I mixed it with some decaf sencha though. :)

Combined 3 tsp. of this with 3 tsp. of Upton’s spearmint in 500 ml. water in my Breville. The results tasted more lemon grass then spearmint so I’m logging it here.

This reminds me a lot of I Love Lemon by Bigelow. Which, while I like lemon, reminds me of being sick (since that’s the only time I drink I Love Lemon), so that’s not pleasant, though it’s not the tisane’s fault.

But overall, I wanted something warm, and without caffeine, and soothing – and this fit the bill.

Another few cups of this today, sigh.

It’s been a constant in the Breville since the boyfriend and I are presumably battling two versions of the same illness.

I like it and all, but I’m really ready to be done with feeling sick already.

Mixed half and half with Upton’s Spearmint blend, so 3 tsp. of each in 16 oz. of water.

My last review of this was a long time ago and it was spot on – it is the perfect sick time tea. Guess how I know that :(.

But on the plus side it is making me feel better, so I’ll just keep sucking it down. Good to have on hand, but it’s a shame it can only be pulled out in not so fun circumstances.

I have the weirdest sickness ever – no sore throat, no congestion/runny nose, no affected taste. Just a strong, gross cough and some mild wheezing.

Even though I can taste okay I still wanted my “sick” tea – 3 tsp. of this, 3 tsp. spearmint, some honey and 16 oz. water, it’s quite soothing and making me want to go back to sleep, which is good- I may just do that.

Sigh. At least I had the day off anyway.
