My review is for the coarse cut Egyptian organic spearmint. Like a lot of people, I purchased this one with the intention of mixing it with other things, like green tea, but I thought I would try drinking it plain tonight.

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a straight tisane of spearmint but I’m enjoying it. Sometimes peppermint gives me reflux but the spearmint has a lot less menthol in it, which will be better for me. I steeped mine for 5 minutes in a large mug with about 1 tsb. of leaf, it is pretty strong. I felt the need to add a bit of agave to it. This is pretty nice though, I’m glad I bought it and will welcome it to my stash of herbal-y things. There isn’t a whole lot more to say. :)

Boring tea log tonight. My tummy is going through all sorts of chaos today. I don’t even want to put dinner in there. ugh. Mint is supposed to be good for tummies, so I busted this out. It tastes kinda funky today. Not sure if it’s the kettle. I’m on the market for a glass one.

Anyways, classic spearmint. sweet and fresh. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

I wonder if ginger would work for me or if it’s only good for nausea? I’ll try that next if this spearmint fails me. :(

I am not remotely a person who blends teas at all, but I bought this to try to mix in some greens to make Moroccan Mint at home. I was expecting a coarse cut to have much bigger pieces, but they are fairly small in my opinion-however, they won’t fall through an infuser. The aroma is amazing-so light and fresh and minty.

First up to mix this with was Upton’s Special Grade Temple of Heaven Gunpowder Green. I did a one to one blend courtesy of Amy oh’s suggestion (one teaspoon each infused in an 8 ounce mug). Brewed at 180 for 3 minutes it came out perfect. It smelled great and tasted just like TG’s Moroccan Mint that I like so much-although TG adds natural flavoring to it. Why? It tastes the same without it. Silly. I had this without sugar because it is very sweet and does not need it. It probably wouldn’t hurt to add it though.

I’ll definitely be looking to ice some of this over the weekend. And I might try this as an herbal blend just to see how it goes. I am very happy about this purchase.

Steeped 5-ish heaping tsp. leaves in 500 ml. water in the Breville at 8 minutes even

My stomach was not very happy after dinner for some reason so I decided mint would be a good way to settle it. Boyfriend has been feeling under the weather (he caught my cold from last week) and loves mint tea anyway so he partook as well.

I prefer spearmint to peppermint because I find it so much milder in taste. This herbal smells wonderful, and doesn’t make me feel like I’m drinking gum. Actually, it tastes like I’ve just pulled a spearmint leaf off the plant to chew on – sweet and clean, but not overpowering at all.

The boyfriend especially is looking forward to drinking it all winter long.

Something disagreed really badly with me yesterday. Either it was the 1/2 coffee, 1/2 hot chocolate concoction I was given at work, or my really awesome dinner that I ate way too late (that didn’t affect boyfriend, and he’s more sensitive than me).

Whatever it was (and honestly I’m betting it’s the processed hot chocolate) my body is in shut down mode. This is the only thing I can imagine consuming, so I’ll just run with it. Oy – good thing I’m off today.

And good thing I still have some of this for emergencies.

This worked very well in settling my stomach after a ridiculously huge dinner. Mint is never my favorite, but it works when I need something relaxing.

Regardless, I’m pretty sure I won’t need to eat again until NEXT Thanksgiving.

Made this into a hot chocolate per boyfriends request since he adores mint. I drank it because it duh, it had chocolate and sugar in it, but the mint kind of ruined it for me – I just don’t like the flavor combination (it’s because I could take or leave the mint itself, I think).

But the boyfriend definitely liked it. He said he would have preferred peppermint, if we had it, but as it was, he practically slurped it down. :)

For technicalities, mine is labeled as Organic Spearmint BH45 (from Egypt).

I bought a 50g packet of this while ordering samples, because I love Adagio’s and thought they’d be (basically) the same. I made it according to instructions and do remember steeping Adagio’s closer to 10 minutes, so that could be the difference here … but this one is weak compared to Adagio’s. Added a tbs. of honey for sweetness and this is “ok” but not as yummy.

Have some of Stash’s on it’s way (if they’d ever ship my order from Monday…must be swamped from sale), so will compare all 3 when it gets here.

Very nice. When I first opened the sample I sniffed it and thought, “Can I really drink something that smells like Wrigley’s gum?” Turns out I can, and easily. It’s got a wonderful flavor to it, and doesn’t remind me of gum at all when I drink it. Lovely tea.

Perfect for relaxing after finishing my homework for the night.

Very smooth and mellow, not at all earthy-tasting. A nice, straight up spearmint. Though I prefer peppermint in terms of flavor, this gets high marks for being good at what it is.

Finishing this up and decupboarding.

There’s not a lot to say about it except that it’s a really nice spearmint, if you are looking for plain spearmint. I had fun tasting a hot cup of plain spearmint tisane a few times, but mostly I found myself adding peppermint and tarragon to this and trying to hit the combination that would mimic Tazo’s Refresh. I never quite found it and frankly, I think I’d be much more likely to buy Refresh as a “plain” mint tisane even though it’s a blend of three flavors, just because I like how they play off of each other. I’m not likely to buy this again, just because if I were going to have a single mint tisane I’d pick peppermint.

This is wonderful. Great for after dinner. Blends well with other teas. You get alot for your money, so buy the smallest amount.
