Rooibos Candied Almond (BA25)

Had this a few nights ago. I had ordered a sample since I really need more non-caf teas in my life and this one sounded pretty tasty.
The taste was weird at first. Tasted like dirty water. But then it cooled and it tasted a lot like Forever Nuts but with rooibos. And less apple. So mostly walnutty. Pretty meh. And the texture was all oily and filmy. Not a fan.

I’m really shocked that I am the first to log this! Thanks Twiggles! This is a nicely flavored Rooibos with almonds and candy hearts. Both flavors come thru nicely and the aroma lingers long after the cup is sipped. Very nice!

Oh. My. Goodness. This tea has totally changed my opinion of rooibos! Before this tea, I desperately wanted to like rooibos, but every one I’ve tried just didn’t do anything for me(and some I couldn’t even finish!). The almond, the tiny sugar hearts, the rooibos- it’s all perfect! It smelled much different than the previous rooibos I’ve had so far, so I thought there may be hope for this tea, and decided to have it tonight! I’m SO glad I did! It was not an in-your-face flavor, the almond is subtle and smooth, and the taste is crisp and bright. The almond is most prevalent in the finish, and it definitely made me want to keep drinking. It’s a perfect evening or afternoon tea, in my opinion, and I’m so glad I found a rooibos I can drink!

Normally, I enjoy a rooibos blend that sort of masks the sometimes odd sweet, nutty taste of the rooibos. This blend … instead of masking the nutty flavor of the rooibos, seems to celebrate it with the flavor of candied almonds. And it works!

This is really quite good.
