I was fortunate enough to try Utopia’s rich and tasteful blend of Chocolate Strawberry Saffron tea. It’s loose Indian black tea leaves are the perfect match for the dark chocolate, luscious strawberries, white chocolate chips and aromatic saffron.

The moment I opened the package I began to smell the sweet, and beautiful aroma of the exquisite blend. Combining the succulent taste of sweet strawberries and rich, creamy dark & white chocolate helps the tea release it’s calming sensation to the indulger.

I prepared the tea with no milk and no sugar because of it’s fresh sweet-floral, berry flavor, smooth and sugary texture; I found it didn’t need anything added to it. The tea already has “the taste of perfection!”

When I first opened the packaged I got the overwhelm craving for chocolate covered strawberries. This tea smells just like the big juicy ones my husband buys me for valentines day.

Overall I thought this was a really unique blend and probably something I wouldn’t have thought to order myself. It was a nice surprise finding it included with my order. I find that I don’t tend to like chocolate in my tea (I’m a real snob when it comes to the quality of chocolate) so this one surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. I really think the Indian black tea and Saffron are a great pairing, I really like the combination. Once steeped you can still taste the chocolate and saffron although the strawberry didn’t come through as much as I expected. I did notice it a lot more once this cooled to room temperature.

I don’t think this tea needs to be sweetened, I find that added any sort of sweetener (i tried several) tends to mask some of the more subtle flavors.

I used to love flavored teas, but not so much anymore. I really like this one though. It is a good tea, the tea holds up to the flavors and the flavors are balanced. It reminds me a bit of Mariage Freres Marco Polo, probably the strawberry influence, but that is quite a compliment and this one is much more economical. This is a lovely after dinner treat tea.
