Green Spiral

Green Tea by Utopian Tea

This heavy tea comes directly from Fujian, China, and plucked from budding “big white tea” aka Dahao Tea. Plantations carefully pick the desired ‘one leaf with one bud’, each to undergo a spiraling process, thus giving this tea it’s distinctive name.

It’s body is spherical in shape, consisting of tightly wound granules (similar to that of Gunpowder tea). The spiral leaves are dark green in color, few covered with some down. Once steeped, this tea gives a rich and mellow aroma, heavy and thick in taste, and shows off it’s gold-green liquor. Some even say they notice a smoky layer embedded within the taste.

Experience this heavy green tea, perfect for big meals, and packed with deep, bold flavor. It’s a must try for anyone who appreciates earthy tones displayed in all aspects of their tea, as this is a very non-vegetal tasting green tea.

drinking this tea this morning in prep for my exam later today. Just need a little wake up call. Especially because I just spilled some my the tea on my couch- hope that’s not a bad omen!

had to up the score on this tea. i really like it more and more as I drink it more times. It is so interesting, and today I really really picked up on that smoky layer of the tea in the scent. It smells like smoke, which is very intense smell. That smoky layer of the smell is in the flavor a little, but not as intensely as in the aroma. This isn’t a grassy green tea, so I would say it would be good for newbies getting into better tea types, as well as tea lovers who just crave a good cuppa. :)

i’ve been drinking so much oolong lately that i have ignored other types. This is a great tea, I can taste the smoky level of flavor, and is earthy and enjoyable.

What an interesting green tea, it’s like none i’ve ever had. The liquor is thicker than usual, and the color is darker as well. It doesn’t taste vegetal,or grassy at all, but instead has an earthy aspect, that reminds me of some black teas maybe? I can’t place the taste, but it is really full and very flavorful. Unfortunately, I have very little of this tea left!

Definitely can taste the smokey layer that is mentioned in the description. A very interesting flavor that does not taste very grassy. Definitely recommend!

This is a very unusual green tea, Utopian is right to give people a forewarning as i’ve never had anything quite like it. I would say the best way to describe the flavor of this tea is stone soup. It’s a rich earthy broth with strong mineral flavors to it. There’s a bit of smoke, but through a proper brewing temp (I recommend 165 as opposed to utopian’s 180), the flavor is mild and in balance (I don’t typically like smokey teas)

Personally, i find it really hearty and satisfying, b
