Xue Pian Phoenix Mountain Dancong
Tea of the Month Reserve Club – December
Xue pian literally means snow flake dancong oolong, a reference to the high mountain elevation where the varietal grows. The name is also apt in describing the flavor of this tea. The sensation on the sides of the palate are similar to scopping up a handful of fresh white snow and eating it, tasting the mineral notes as the snow melts on the tongue. Brings back memories of Minnesota childhood for sure. The textural complexity and intriguing sweetness of the tea makes it an exciting tea to offer as part of the reserve program.
