Very complex. Slightly roasty, very sweet & sticky aroma on leaves. Fruit start – notes of pear & stoned fruit. Viscous but clean middle, hint of spice (allspice?). Soft finish, with a hint of astringency. Subdued but complex aftertaste.

Flavours emerge, from initial sweetness on the tip of the tongue, through a well balanced astringency as the liquor runs over your palate to a long silky finish. Particularly when preparing in a GaiWan the aroma is distinct from other rock teas, whilst still maintaining that satisfying comforting essence which characterises great WuYi Shan teas. This WuYi rock tea, distinguishes it’s self by carefully balancing distinct flavours and aromas without an overwhelming punch of smoky, nuttiness.
