Large leaf variety of camellia that is unique to this Simao has been pressed together into this cake. Heavy in leaf with few buds this brews a strong liquor that is earthy but free of smokiness. Picking through my gaiwan after brewing revealed several of the leaves were as long as the palm of my hand!
