From Yunnan Sourcing

This year we went all out to make a unique ripe blend! We blended 10 different teas from several regions and wet pile batches to create a complex and tasty ripe pu-erh that is worthy of aging! There are many leaf grades including cha tou, gong ting, and grades 1 through 5 all blended together to create something full-bodied and long lasting.

This is also one of those ripes that will show many sides of itself as the sessions goes on. The inclusion of 15% cha tou (from two regions) allows this tea to last even longer.

This is a very nice ripe. I have wondered why tea makers don’t keep the Cha tou nuggets in ripe pu erh teas. You can tell they are in this blend, it seems to add some depth and smoothness. The tea is smooth but somewhat bitter, with chocolate notes, as well as some old library book in the background. Very complex. And a good price for a full sized cake.
