I haven’t had this in a while and nearly forgot about. It’s fantastic.

A lightly floral and smooth Baozhong Oolong from Taiwan is perfectly blended with creamy coconut to make our Coconut Oolong. The cakery coconut flavour is amazing, and tea is a very smooth, rich, almost milky tea with a natural sweetness and subtle floral notes.
If you love coconut milk sweets and sophisticated oolongs, this is your tea.

This is another one from the limited selection of teas that I’ll drink a pot of. Floral notes, and coconut flakes are touching upon milky today. This is why this tea gets “permanent” status in my stash. It goes along perfectly with the lengthy “A Beautiful Mind” and some episodes of Downton Abbey (thanks, Cavo).
You know what’s a really big fish? The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna.

I dig the floral and the sweet coconuttyness in this tea! The oolong here is fantastic as well! YUM!
And I drank my entire pot really fast while I was working on my crochet blog and pattern sales.

I have been so SO pleased with my box of teas from Zen after their 50% off sale. There is only one tea in the box I don’t like (it’s not this one) and sadly I don’t have any swap money because I want it gone, but that’s a story for another time.
This tea is creamy, coconutty, astringent (not bitter) and a bit buttery. Definitely vegetal – super delicious. I make pots of it and always put the last pot in the fridge for iced tea. Yummy with a splash of coconut milk after a work out!
this was a lovely surprise from one MissB.
okay…. i may have cheated a tad while i was opening the package. it referred to a ‘cake coconut’ flavour. really. honestly, i’ve heard claims like that before but i’ve never found one. i wouldn’t say that the vendor is necessarily trying to be deceitful… but everyone has a different palate and if you’re selling something then hope can get mixed in with flavouring.
truly that was NOT the case this time! it was a light, sweet, very mildly floral coconut cake flavour! the only better i’ve tasted is the blend stacy at butiki made for me personally!
another remarkable element of the tea is that it steeps up to such a brilliantly light colour….. many shades lighter than apple juice. lovely, light, pale, sweet yet somehow complicated cake coconut!
And so concludes four days of backlog! Yay! And it only took me about two hours to write everything out. Not so bad at all. It’ll be a relief when I get my computer back, though.
Anyway, I enjoyed a nice piping hot mug of this last night in celebration of our water being turned back on, and it was just absolutely lovely! Definitely made me want to get make a lot more coconut tea, which I very well might just do later this afternoon (I’m thinking Butiki’s Coconut Creme Pie). I think I want something heavily caffeinated right now, though. I had a miserable night’s sleep (being really sick doesn’t help at all) and am dreadfully sore.
Having been having conversations about coconut oolongs and all the different versions of it.
ifjuly sent me a couple that I didn’t really like – very green, very floral oolong with coconut. Those are her favorite types. I normally prefer the darker oolongs with coconut, and then TheTeaFairy sends me this (ok I also have more in my cupboard from my Zen tea order).
I’m really glad that I have more of this in my cupboard. For me this combines the best from both styles. This is greener than I normally like BUT there isn’t a hint of floral. YAY light oolong – no floral, add to that a really nice natural creamy coconut, and you end up with a really nice, light, well balance, naturally sweet, coconut oolong. I really like this. Top 3 coconut oolongs for sure.
Thank you TheTeaFairy for sending me some of this. :))
Thank you Zen Tea for this lovely sample! A nice sized sample to boot!
I love coconut oolongs, pouchongs, etc when they are made well and this one sure is!
The coconut flavor is perfect and NOT artificial at all!
LOVELY oolong base tea!
Sweet and floral and vegetal and a wonderful after taste!

Getting back to my Zen Tea samples…this one I’ve been thinking about since I got it, for some reason I just never wanted it. Totally kicking myself over that.
There are plenty of coconut oolongs out there, but even after just one cup, I feel like this one is my favorite. I like that it is really reminiscent of coconut milk and cake. Can you imagine a tres leches cake made with coconut milk? Coconut milk, cream of coconut, and idk what else, maybe you’d be set for life with just dos leches cake with coconut. That’s what I think of this.
It’s sweet, buttery, creamy, cakey, and most importantly it tastes like coconut milk. It’s not super coconut tasting, which I like because the oolong still shines through.
This is another I will definitely have to give a try cold brewed, because it’ll probably be amazing.
