Dragon Well (formerly known as Gracious Green)

This is a nice Dragon Well. It has a very pleasant sweetness to it – it is not overpowering. It has a vegetative quality to it that is somewhat of a mix between grassy and lightly buttered, roasted veggies. A nice balance.

Not a bad green. It didn’t stand out as awesome or awful, but it was a decent cup. I had this bagged, and I wish that it had better steeping instructions on the packet.

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Water: 12 ounces hot spigot water
Tool: kati loose tea system (my Review here.)
Steep Time: a little over 2 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: grassy, green
Steeped Tea Smell: smooth , buttery vegetables
Flavor: vegetal, not as smooth as it smells
Body: Light
Aftertaste: grassy
Liquor: translucent honey brown-yellow

This is a very light tea with a chestnut aroma to it. The taste is vegetal with a light sweetness to it. I drink more black teas than green and I still liked it. A nice relaxing tea.

I’m not a huge fan of Chinese green teas, but I must admit, this tea is very good for what it is. Furthermore, Zhena’s Gypsy Teas are very good quality no matter what form or line you purchase…another brand I highly recommend.

Aroma: More vegetal than grassy, more asparagus than spinach.

Taste: Same as aroma. More vegetal than grassy, more asparagus than spinach with a little “sparkle” due to the tannins, but not tart, just lively.

Aftertaste: Actually, I’m contradictory compared to taste…as it settles on the palate, it mellows and softens to more of a soft spinach and the tannins mellow as well; still lively but loses some of it’s “zing” factor. Another nice tea to enjoy throughout the day and into the early evening.

Zhena’s Gypsy Tea is another brand I highly recommend; not all flavors will appeal to each person’s palate, however, the quality and freshness of this brands teas [all teas of this brand] are top-notch, exceptional and sublime.
