Replaced the yucked up Xmas blend with this ol’ reliable. Plus, I’d already cleaned 2 infusers today… a third was NOT happening. :P

This tea was a solid ok. I wasn’t expecting much for a bagged tea.. A bit weak for my tastes but the balance of raspberry and bergamot are pretty nice.

A pretty decent earl grey, but the raspberry is difficult to taste. Delicious with some added lemon.

Strong raspberry flavor without becoming overwhelming. Very drinkable without any additives. Tried over ice – very bitter, didn’t like it at all. Recommended steeping time 3-6 minutes. Tasted 08.2018.

Definitely agree with everyone saying this tea is very strong on the raspberry flavor. Not that that’s a bad thing. A bit overpowering in regards to the earl though.

However, I still love this tea when I’m in the mood for a tea with some strong, fruity flavor.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the fruity raspberry, bergamot, and bold black tea together. The black base was flavourful, lots of tannins but not quite bitter yet. The raspberry was a tiny bit sweet and gave a nice fruity after-taste. The bergamot was not overpowering. I actually would not have minded a bit more bergamot.

Sipdown 36/371!

Unfortunately I don’t remember who I got this from, but thank you to whoever it was! (EDIT: after consulting my spreadsheet it appears that this was a sample from MissB – thanks!) I also passed my second steepsterversary without realising ): it’s been a while since I’ve used steepster and it totally passed me by.

This tea was very enjoyable. The instructions written on the packet said to brew for 3-5 minutes at boiling, and I went with 5 because I prefer a strong brew. I’m glad I did, because I think it would have been weak if I’d given it less time, but that could possibly be due to the age of the tea; I’ve had it for quite a while now, and it wasn’t new when I received it. I was given enough teabags to make several cups of this tea, and don’t remember it tasting of earl grey at all any time I’ve tried it. The raspberry flavour is definitely present, and pleasantly natural-tasting rather than artificial, but I don’t taste any bergamot flavouring. Not even if I really concentrate. It is, though, a very nice raspberry tea, and one that I’d probably rate higher if it was labelled as such. The black base is pleasant too, especially for a tea. It is malty and strong without being astringent, though I did add a drop of skimmed milk which may be tempering the astringency. Overall I would drink this again if offered it, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to repurchase it. I’m happy to have it out of my cupboard and to move on to other things.

I really, REALLY enjoyed this tea! I travel a lot, and I purchased the Zhena’s variety sampler at Wegman’s before getting on the road for a 4 hour trip at 10 o’clock at night. By midnight I was starting to get tired, and so I stopped at a Turnpike rest stop and made some of this delightful tea. I bought the sampler to try the Italian Chamomile and Plum Ambrosia, but I decided that a black tea would be the best pick-me-up (I usually strongly dislike black tea). It was DELICIOUS! It had a very noticeable, but not overwhelming raspberry taste. I liked this, because oftentimes the raspberry presents itself in the smell of a tea, but is difficult to taste. Here, the taste of the raspberry bloomed beautifully and it was a very real raspberry taste, not artificial (probably because the tea has real freeze-dried raspberries and not just “raspberry flavoring”). The essence of bergamot was also delightfully noticeable. There was not a trace of bitterness. Overall, this is the best black tea I have ever tried. I also love that it is organic, Fair Trade, vegan, and sustainable packaged (and the little tins are delightful!).

What? An EG I haven’t already tried? OMG. Received this as a birthday gift, though I’m only just now getting around to trying it. Mmmmm. Subtle flavours, but they work nicely together, I have to say. This was my first tea from this company, and I look forward to trying the other samples I have from them!
