21 Tasting Notes
My first pu-erh! Made it in a gaiwan with a quarter of a cake, I’ve done 4 infusions so far and it’s still going strong.
It was just as I’ve always heard pu-erh- earthy. Though not as rich as I expected- it tasted lighter than many blacks I’ve had. Maybe I’ll try steeping it longer next time.
Regardless, deliciously unique. Not an everyday tea for me, but every once and a while, sure. I can’t wait to taste my green pu-erh from Dream About Tea!
My first gyokuro- coming from senchas and dragonwells, the umami and overall complexity of this tea kind of kicked me in the face- but not in a bad way. Very interesting, but definitely not an everyday tea for me. Also, I followed the instructions from Den’s, but I think I may have used a little too much leaf/not enough water. Anyway, I’m going to do another infusion later, I’d like to try and pull out a little more sweetness in that one.
A friend made some of this for me- no sweetner, second infusion. Pretty tasty blend- I like the spice from the cinnamon and the sweet finish from the fruits. Still, like other reviewers, I couldn’t really pick out the tastes of the individual fruits.
First time I had honeybush I didn’t like it so much, but I think I appreciate it now. The flavors are not nearly as complex as other teas, but they’re simple, smooth, and sweet. It’s worth drinking from time to time for that reason alone- a simple, unique tea.
Really good stuff- very light and floral. I always thought white teas were boring- this has depth without losing it’s lightness. Give it a try.
Buttery smooooth, especially on the first infusion. I’m used to drinking senchas, and this was refreshingly simple and less pungent than those. I’ll be coming back to this one.
Tastes pretty much like hot raspberry lemonade, in a good way. The mate is very much in the background, but when you can taste it, it’s very smooth. As for the buzz, this is my first time drinking mate and I think I prefer it to the jittery buzz coffee gives you.
Watched some videos and read some about how to properly taste tea, and I can identify even more about what makes this tea so good. Smooth and buttery and vegetative, but the most impressive part for me was the aftertaste- like 5 minutes after I finished drinking I got very plump fruity tastes. Awesome.
