1055 Tasting Notes
Sipdown. This week, I need to drink some of my older DavidsTea teas because my tea shelf is exploding with all my Black Friday orders. Oops, I ordered too much tea! lol
Anyway, I did really enjoy this tea. It is mostly peachy with some apricot, nuttiness, and citrus. I will probably re-stock someday, but not until I have waaaaaay less then 200 teas!
As many of you know, green tea is not a favourite of mine, but as my tea tastes change, I like to try high quality straight greens to see if my tastes have changed.
This tea is really good (in green tea terms!). The first steep is a little too vegetal for my tastes, but the next 2 steeps are much better. I am getting some nutty and buttery notes as well as sweet corn with a touch of cinnamon.
I used 1 tsp of leaf and resteeped for 1.25 and 1.5 minutes
We will see if this 1oz bag can convert me into a green tea lover.
I needed this mate this morning because I didn’t sleep last night. Not sleeping is one of the most frustrating things in the world. Just laying there, trying to read or watch TV, watching the clock……grrr… I can’t even blame the baby because she slept most of the night.
Anyway, this tea was really good this morning. Pineapple is the most prominent note today with that earthy mate base. I hope this gives me the energy to get through the day.
I enjoyed this sample, but I don’t think it would be a staple in my cupboard or anything.
Thank you so much Verdant for including this sample in my Black Friday order!
This is an excellent Tieguanyin. It is so buttery, like the butter that drips off of freshly boiled corn on the cob, with some vegetal and fruity notes. I am also getting a slight nuttiness as well as a slightly sweet note.
I used 2 tsp of leaf and did a quick rinse first.
I only had time for 2 resteeps at 1 and 1.5 minutes. I would have steeped it all day but I went to visit my friend and her new baby. No worries, I will probably order this with my $10 voucher from my Black Friday order.
That got me thinking about my order so I went on the website to scope out the teas I want to order. OH NO……Laoshan Black is out of order! I need more of that beauty of a tea :(
Wow, I ordered this fully expecting to drink it as a “health” tea because pu’erh for me really helps me when I am having digestion problems but I really wanted a high quality pu’erh that would taste good. Because I really don’t want to drink something that I don’t enjoy when I am sick.
For me, sometimes pu’erhs are too “earthy” and sometimes the mushroom notes take it too far down the road of weird for me. However, this pu’erh is a different story.
This tea is sweet and lovely like a white tea, yet not floral. I am mostly getting slightly fruity notes, like a green apple. There is a touch of pine in there as well. A tad bit of spice rounds out the flavour.
I am surprised by the complexity and sweetness of this tea. I am also surprised at how much I truly enjoyed this tea!
I did a quick rinse first.
I had time for 2 resteeps today at 4 and 5 minutes. They were just as gorgeous as the first.
I also think this would make a very good iced tea.
