791 Tasting Notes
For me, I am mostly getting passion fruit and apple notes with a bit of tartness. I think the flavour profile is pretty light though so I might steep it for longer next time….but that might make the hibiscus a little more tart, I am not sure.
Overall, it is good chilled.
400th tasting note!
This tea is so delicious and I have some en route that I ordered on sale! But for now, I have some left of my sample from June.
This tea is nice and light jasmine with slight grassy notes. I used too little leaf this time though. I usually use 2-3 tsp but I only used a little over 1tsp. But, regardless, it was still delicious!
Backlogging from yesterday.
I had to have a Butiki tea because I put in another order! Yay!
Mmm… Assam. Malty and smooth with a tiny splash of milk. I will have to try their newer Assam some time. It’s probably even better and that’s why Stacy stopped stocking this one! I did order the caramel Assam and can’t wait to try it!
First of all, this is a really heavy tea so it ends up being a but expensive. Second of all, this leaves a bit of “scum” in the infuser so I would maybe use a tea bag next time
On to the tea….this is really refreshing and fruity. I mostly get the mango notes but also just a slight general fruitiness note. It also tastes a little bit artificial. I would definitely get this again though.
So I ordered this last summer and never got around to it. It is hard for me to make such a large pitcher of iced tea just for myself. My husband doesn’t drink tea….:(. My in-laws were supposed to be coming for a visit so I made this. They didn’t end up coming though. So I only drank a quarter of the pitcher before I had to toss it. I can only handle so much caffeine.
Anyway on to the tea…. Sorry about that tangent. Moral of the story is that I think this tea had lost lots of its flavour due to age. I found the berry taste very muted and found that I had to sweeten quite a bit which is unusual because I don’t often sweeten my teas. I won’t rate this because it doesn’t seem fair to the tea
I brewed 2 steeps and then combined them to chill overnight. I think I overstepped a little on the first steep. I just kinda guessed when 2 minutes would be up. I guessed wrong because this isn’t as sweet as it usually is. Oops. It’s still silky and delicious. I guess I just have to be more careful of the steep time.
On a side note, I ordered some jasmine silver needles ( and some samples) today while they were on sale. Can’t wait to get that tin!
I decided to treat myself tonight and make a latte.
I heated up some milk and added a tiny bit of butter pecan creamer that my Mom left in my fridge.
WOW! This is amazing…ah!….I looked on the website and it doesn’t look like this is available anymore :(. Apparently, I haven’t been on the Butiki website forever. I guess it’s time for an order!
