I had a leftover sample of this from David’s “Happy Commuter” sample pack way back in like, 2014. I’ve been trying to clear out my tea cupboard so I wanted to get this out of the way, but it sounds pretty good so I honestly don’t mind.

The dry leaf is very fruity and tart, lots of blueberry and currant, which is well, obvious considering the ingredients of the tea. Steeped, the tea gets that lovely deep amber color that red rooibos gets, and it keeps the fruity aroma, but the rooibos is a lot more noticeable.

Flavorwise the tea is a lot stronger in its rooibos. Blueberry is to me, the most prominent of the fruity flavors with black currant and then red currant following. Overall, I think that it lives up to its name of being a fruity rooibos rather than a fruit flavored tea with a rooibos base. I enjoy it a lot actually and think it would be great over ice but sadly David’s has discontinued this tea it looks like. I’ll savor the last sips of this cup while I can.
