Nice flavoured black tea. Beautiful pearls in it and tastes really soft.

Sencha Red Ginseng from Fleur de Cafe

First cup-of-tea since a long while, couldn’t be anything else than Sencha Red Ginseng. It is still my favourite tea. Nothing new to say, still great. Maybe I should make this one iced some day….

Long Jing Dragon Well from Fleur de Cafe

I received my teawares from China from Yunnan Sourcing. Everything is so pretty and tiny. So cute. But it makes for some nice tea tastings, to do a lot of infusions after each other. So to put it to the test I grabbed my Long Jing Dragon Well.

Dragon Well, it is supposed to be the best green tea from China. It looks absolutely beautiful, big green leaves filled my gai wan. The brew is yellowish green, and looks very nice.

But the taste is a little dissapointing, it’s a slightly bitter, and a little bit grassy. Maybe I am just spoiled by the light sweetness off the absolutely marvelous Tie Guan Yin, but this tea dissapoints me.

Finest Oolong from Simon Levelt

I really like it, it’s my first oolong, and also my first “darker” tea. By darker I don’t mean the color but the taste. It has a very dark taste, which I love in the afternoon.

This is my first Gyokuro and I expected a lot from it. I ordered it from O-Chan and 5 days later I had it at home, very fast!

But about the tea, everyone told me that a Gyokuro is very delicate and therefore you should watch the temperature while you’re steeping. I was a bit nervous I did it wrong but it turned out pretty good. It had a very nice green color, which reminded me of a lemonade. The taste however was very soft. I’m not that good at describing tastes but that is what I made of it. The next time I’m going to make this, I will add more tea, which will add flavour, I hope

I will try to do a proper tasting note with this one as I don’t really know what I think. It is quite nice but not as “friendly” as the Sencha Red Ginseng. It has a light bitter, or dry taste, which can be nice at times.

But that is it, so it is quite “boring”. I don’t get tempted to try this tea as I am with other teas. A little dissapointing but still a nice grean tea…

This is my favourite tea, it has a nice grassy taste. The red ginseng parts give it a nice look, and so it’s apealing to the eye too. Man I’m bad at this…
