edit oh hey look! my 150th tasting note!
As I sit here drinking my new favorite thing (Second Cup’s Caramello coffee….blasphemy!!), it occurred to me that I could pop on and write a little review for my old fave.
I’m still trying to regain my love of tea…I certainly don’t need to buy anymore because my stash is through the roof and I haven’t been drinking much these days.
I’m sticking with the teas that have permanently earned a place in my heart (and in my belly), with the hopes that it will rekindle the old flame that died once I got pregnant and coffee took over. Now I have a baby and I go to bed at night dreaming of the cup of java I will have the next morning. Tea just doesn’t give me that satisfying jolt. But I know the love is there, and I’ve been drinking some in the evenings.
All that to say – THIS tea is one of my holy grail teas. It has achieved that ultimate status for me. It’s perfectly flavored but not too strong, not fake tasting. It’s basically a fancy, gussied up (yeah I just said that) version of my go-to tea, earl grey. Like the Earl’s young, fun sister.
I don’t know why but if you watch Downton Abbey, you should know that the character of Rose just came to mind.
Caramel, berries, vanilla, bergamot….I dunno, I mean this tea is everything I want in a ….tea. I’m raising my rating to 100 for two reasons:
1) when you love something this much you should give it full credit
2) when someone who is currently “off” tea (trying to find her way back on), and still loves one this much, that’s saying something.
(I’ve been using the sachets because with a 3 month old baby around, time is money)
