drank Pineapple Oolong by DAVIDsTEA
652 tasting notes

I am so behind on logging….because I spent all day drinking tea on account of receiving the T&C TTB today! Oh man!

More tea samples than I’ve see in one place, like, ever.

I drank, ohhh, seven teas since 10:00 this morning, Haha. I logged them all manually (er, I mean, in a physical book with an actual tangible writing instrument and my hand) – so expect a bunch of backlogs later!

Anyway. This one. Sipdown!! An old favorite. When I was on my flavoured oolong binge.

Perfectly tasty and flavorful, with a realistic pineapple note.

I could have used a creamy vanilla note to tone down the tartness and also because I’ve told you before, “everything is better with vanilla!”

All in all, I enjoyed this cup at like 11:30 last night, but have finished my run with it, no need to repurchase. Assuming it still exists, but I have no idea anyhow.

What was the card portion of the box? Just curious as to what everyone is putting in!

Virginia

Haha love the part about logging them manually with a “tangible writing instrument”. I think I will do the same, I hate sitting in front of my computer and writing as I drink tea. It ruins my chi.

I’M SO JEALOUS OF YOU RIGHT NOW! I WANT THE BOOOOOOOOOOXXXXXXXX!(said in a whiny child throwing a tantrum over fruitloops at the grocery store tone)

Haha I think I’m after virginia….thankfully I’ll be moved by then

@mj1851 I got a postcard photo taken by Nicole’s husband of Kansas City :)

@Virginia it has prove to be much simpler writing it down! I designated a notebook my official “tea log”

I also have a list of every tea I own in there, though it doesn’t include my samples yet. Because my Steepster cupboard is not up to date!

@Sil yeah good timing for sure! Lucky you weren’t next :)

Nicole’s Hubby takes AMAZING pictures imo..

I like the idea of an old fashioned paper & pen log. I jot notes on post-its when I drink tea at work but especially with the influx that comes with a TTB, the idea of just keeping a little notebook at hand sounds good.

Hello!

I love tea. I love my mini-me daughter, my husband, my dog Wally, Netflix, shopping, and tea. Some other stuff too, but these are the most important!

Some favourites -

My new favourite tea company is A Quarter to Tea. I love the flavouring used and how it doesn’t seem fake, and the combinations are so delicious. Right up my alley.

My favourite teas are black, I love Laoshan Black and Taiwanese Wild Mountain Black tea from TTC. Also many of Teavivre’s black teas.

Butiki teas RIP, I loved how the flavours were subtle and not fake tasting and didn’t overwhelm the tea base. Trust that I am dramatically mourning the loss of this company!

Teavivre, Whispering Pines and Mariage Freres are some more tea companies I appreciate. Along with Davidstea as it was the ‘gateway drug’ to my tea addiction. Though I’m mostly over it now, I’ve definitely moved on from the artificially flavoured teas and am trying more quality straight teas!

My ultimate goal is to try as many French teas as possible – and to finally find a source in Canada for Mariage Freres so I can buy Wedding Imperial, and Black Orchid for sure.

I would like to try any Taiwanese Assams that exist in the world!

Also continuously on the hunt for Fauchon – La Naissance. If anyone has some of this I would pay for it!!! It’s my number one all time favourite tea.

When I rate, it goes like this:

85 -100 = WIN! awesome, I love this and keep it on hand
70 – 85 = pretty darn good but I don’t NEED to own it
55 – 70 = not necessarily terrible but not a tea for me!
30 – 55 = missed the mark as far as I am concerned. Wouldn’t drink it willingly.
0 – 30 = I likely won’t rate this low very often, so if you see it, consider the tea a great big FAIL and probably disgusting.
