7 Tasting Notes

Lovely honey and fresh alfalfa hay taste. Rich, full mouthfeel. Soft floral notes in the aftertaste. A bit like drinking the sunshine in a little meadow. Holds up pretty well to higher temp brewing but can get a little dry. Cold brews like a dream!

Sweet alfalfa hay with floral notes. Delicate and silky. Long, sweet and smooth finish. A solid, friendly white with very little bitterness or dryness. Can be a little light on flavor strength.

Very light tea, both in texture and flavor. It’s pretty smooth and delicate, with more fruit and sweetness in the aftertaste than the actual sip. It’s a very friendly drinker, but not terribly complex or nuanced? I think I could have pushed the temps and steeping times harder though.

This tea is sort of like what I would imagine eating a buttercup to be like. The body is smooth, with a longish finish. Not a lick of dryness or bitterness/astringency. The texture is almost silky, which is a new experience for me. Some really smooth, soft floral notes (white flowers? I would say peony BUT.) and a very light hay/dry grass flavor. It’s not winning any awards for hitting you over the head with a flavor mallet, but it’s sweet and delicate and very pleasant.

I am a puer newbie, so for a newbie, this is a pretty neat puer. It tastes like apricots. It is an apricot hammer. Apricots and a little sugary sweetness. The finish is super long and sweet, and the body of the tea is quite thick compared to what I usually drink. I imagine it might be a little on the plain/boring side for a puer connoisseur as the taste doesn’t change much throughout the infusions. I did manage to stick with this tea for 10 infusions, and it seems to be pretty forgiving; it didn’t get bitter or dry on me until the end.

This tea brews up a very pretty light champagne gold, and smells like fresh alfalfa with a touch of something savory that I can’t place. The taste was mostly light hay, alfalfa, and a soft vegetalness with a tiny bit of honey. I didn’t get much in the way of floral or fruit notes. The finish is a little short and on the dry side. I spaced out and forgot to use a filter for the first few steeps but didn’t end up eating a bunch of leaf which was nice. The price point on this tea is really nice, which would make it a nice daily drinker for someone that likes a more savory white. I said “nice” too many times. This tea is nice.

This is my favorite night time tisane. The pear flavor is nice and light and not artificial tasting. It’s very warming and sweet and smells like pear-heaven! I drink it without milk or sugar, and it does just fine.
