9 Tasting Notes

Borough Breakfast Bop from Ceylon1
74

A very clean tasting black tea. I had bought some of Ceylon1’s tea in 2007 and it was amazing!! It was super light and clean tasting, leaving a really great flavor on your palate. Also, made an amazing iced tea. I was really bummed when I ran out, but my mom stopped at Borough Market and got me some more. But, it was different, it was the Borough Breakfast.
So, this is a really good black tea too. It’s light and crisp, but leaves that dusty black tea flavor on the palate. I still recommend it and Ceylon1 is a pretty cool tea company.

I drank this at home before visiting London. It’s a good, strong black tea. In London, mostly I found Twinings or Lipton. I did see it sold at a convenience store with a sock monkey, and really wish I bought it! So cute.

Lipton Black Tea from Lipton

I grew up drinking Lipton black tea, so it’s nostalgic if nothing else. But, it’s my standard, cheap black tea. Also, it reminds me of my preferred bike touring meal at diners; salad, blt, fries and a hot cup of black tea. mmm.

Three Cups Fragrance (San Bei Xiang) from Silk Road Teas

A light, sweeter green tea. Good for through-out the day drinking.

Jasmine Green Tea from Trader Joe's

Best to let the water cool for a few seconds before steeping the tea – otherwise it gets bitters. Good jasmine tea for quick, no fuss brewing. It’s a light, floral jasmine with mild flavor.

Peppermint from Trader Joe's

I agree with all the other notes, this is an easy, go-to peppermint tea. Good flavor and smell. Sometimes I leave the tea bag in forever and it doesn’t really over steep. Quick brew for a before bedtime drink.

Chai Latte from Trader Joe's

A powdered mix, which keeps a long time in the pantry. Overall, I like the flavor, especially when I’m craving something sweet. It is a little too sugary, but still good. Seep time and water temp aren’t really relevant for this tea :)

Duchess Grey Tea from Trader Joe's

A great morning or pick me up tea – definitely great for rainy days and reading. I really like the lighter, citrus flavor. A quick, easy to brew tea.

Jasmine Pearls from The Tao of Tea

We tasted the two varieties of Tao of Tea jasmine pearls side by side at the shop. Both are delicious! But, I favor the cheaper ones. It’s a more earthy flavor. The expensive ones are sweeter and have a stronger floral scent.
