30 Tasting Notes

Carrot Cake from DAVIDsTEA
73
Buttered Rum (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
61

I tried it again today with coconut sugar. It seemed to tone it down A bit and I enjoyed it much more. Thus may have a permanent place in my fall and winter cupboard after all!

After Lunch from Teaopia
69

This is a nice herbal after a meal just as the name suggests. Does seem to aid in digestion. I like the liquorice flavour in an otherwise mild herbal.

Forbidden Fruit from DAVIDsTEA
68
I can really taste the fig and honeydew in this one. Tastes rich and exotic. Full of flavour. Really love this one, wish I could get some more.
Creamy Nut Oolong from Teaopia
100

One of my all time favourites time and time again, the first steep it creamy and caramelly, the second steep is a bit more watery but you can really taste the apple second time around! I think I steep it a bit too long (2-3) mins the first time but I like it that way. Its the only tea I routinely resteep.

Mojito Raspberry Mint from Teaopia
70

A great one, I like it with a little sugar and iced. I love the combination of the lemongrass and raspberry. Because of the fruit I like to filter it through a coffee filter after I brew it, it takes a little while but its much nicer to drink it without the fruit sludge that settles on the bottome.

Imperial Organic - Organic Green Tea with Jasmine from Uncle Lee's Tea
68

Vary nice for a jasmine, the jasmine is very strong though, sort of like drinking perfume, I think it would be better with a shorter steeping time. Around 2 mins?

Green & Fruity from DAVIDsTEA
64

I liked it but don’t find it to be anything very special. Its a nice fruity cup hot or iced. You can taste the apple and papaya.

Chocolate Chili Chai from DAVIDsTEA
79

I get the heat of the chilis, and the creamyness of the chocolate. The black tea isn’t too astringent. Very nice, I hope they bring it back again!

Lemon Cream Pie from DAVIDsTEA
100

This one is nice and rich and balanced. It really does taste like lemon cream pie! Lemony, buttery, delightful!

Read My Lips from DAVIDsTEA
65

You can taste the mint and chocolate. I don’t really get the peppercorn flavour unless I’m really tasting for it. Its good but not great.

Midsummer Night's Dream from DAVIDsTEA
83

Refreshing and delicious. I love the citrus flavour and a bit of vanilla-like depth to it. A summer staple.

Forever Nuts from DAVIDsTEA
95

My husband has been accused of baking in his office when he is drinking this, my kids always think there are muffins in the oven. I reach for it when what I really want is a caramel apple pie! Its one I always have to have in the cupboard. Tangy from the apple, sweet and decadent from the almond but not too “desserty”. A nice refreshing but comforting cup.

Luscious Watermelon from DAVIDsTEA

Very nice and fresh tasting! You get the fresh sweetness of watermelon. I like to filter it through a coffee filter after I’ve brewed it because it does have some gritty sludge that goes though my wire mesh filter basket. Not a big problem but if I have time its a bit nicer without the sludge on the bottom.

Chocolate Rocket from DAVIDsTEA
71

This tasted like a chocolate raspberry dessert to me. Very nice but a bit sweet tasting. My kids love it and I reach for it when what I really want is a dessert ;)

Toasted Walnut from DAVIDsTEA
100

The first David’s tea I’d ever tried and good enough that I’m willing to try anything they do! Heavenly! The walnut and coconut go so well with the green tea, so smooth but great flavour too. Comforting and warming.

Tazo Chai from Tazo
72

Easy to find, easy to brew in bags at work and I can keep a couple bags in my purse. My go to chai. I don’t enjoy it black at all but with milk and honey its a very decent chai. I know there are probably better out there but this one is good enough to keep me from searching too hard.

Rise N Shine from Teaopia

I like this one pretty much only because of the cola nut, love cola nut teas! I don’t drink pop anymore but do still sometimes miss Pepsi so I’m drawn to teas with Cola nut. Its a nice mild and mellow tea with a smooth hint of cola, not overpowering like in some I’ve had. Nice to have in the cupboard but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.

Mulberry Magic from DAVIDsTEA
59

I loved this one with my first cup but as time goes on I’m falling out of love with it :s It tastes a bit like rich pie crust but there is some “other” quality to it underneath that just tastes off to me, presumably the mulberry leaves. It is very minor but its there. Maybe because it tastes close enough to tea that I don’t mentally recognize it as “other” so it just seems off or slightly “weedy”?
Still a nice cup though, just would’t buy more than 50g next time ;)

Fantasy Island from DAVIDsTEA
81

I love this one, it is exactly as promised. The coconut and raspberry make me feel like I’m laying out on the beach without the stress of the UV rays LOL. A real treat. I tried it with some coconut sugar and it was very decadent, I don’t usually sweeten but I think if I iced it with the coconut sugar it would be wonderful. I prefer this one hot.

Creme Caramel Rooibos from DAVIDsTEA

Ho Hum…I was disappointed in this tea. There was nothing “wrong” with it but nothing special either. A nice Rooibos base but the flavours were pretty bland. I’ll drink the bag but not buy it again.

Buttered Rum (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
61

It was really tasty and I enjoyed it. Having said that it was really “flavoured”. I think it will only be a sometimes tea for me.
