This is basically a pure spice mix with no black tea base, hence the reason it is caffeine free. I came across this today while browsing Whittard’s Covent Garden London shop and immediately purchased it after reading the ingredients. It is the same mix of spices I use when making masala chai mix at home. I love chai but usually I cannot have it at night due to caffeine and this blend removes that. Chai all night long!

I brewed for 6-10 minutes as suggested for a stronger taste and it was perfect! Very obvious cinnamon flavour with the other spices lingering in the background. Added 1/2 tsp honey for sweetness but I think this blend would be excellent straight as well.

It also says to not drink this with milk but I may use this when I make masala chai. Overall, very happy I came across this.

drank Gingerbread by DAVIDsTEA
7 tasting notes

Just got this tea in a care package from my friend in Canada (Davids tea really needs to start shipping internationally I really miss their tea here in the UK!!) and I immediately try it. Of all the winter teas this one I was most excited to try and I am not disappointed at all!

The smell is amazing, smells almost like caramel to me and maybe also like how a spiced cookie would taste like. I am drinking it straight no honey or sugar added and it is already perfectly sweetened. I can taste a bit of the ginger but not much. The main tone is slightly spiced sweetness which is fine for me.

For this to be called “Gingerbread” I think the spice would have to be increased dramatically but I still love it and am very pleased, it really tastes like a cookie to me. I just wished I had got a tin of this instead of a 14g sample! Hopefully this tea comes back in the next winter collection.

drank Honeydew Mate by DAVIDsTEA
7 tasting notes

I am a big fan of mate and honey (and honeydew is one of my favourite fruits!) so I was extremely looking forward to tasting this tea. I am happy to say it did not disappoint me at all :)

The tea tastes like it smells, the honeydew flavour is the main star but that means I can’t really taste anything else. I also like that there is rooibos in this tea to kind of round out the mate. This tea is definitely stimulating but gently shakes you awake with every smooth sip~ Overall, I absolutely love this tea!

I can’t decide what I love most about this – the smell or the taste. It smells so sweet and creamy, I love the coconut. My first thought was that it smells a little like popcorn lol

I first tried it straight up with nothing added and the flavour was amazing!! Doesn’t have too much caffeine either but enough to give you a little nudge in the mornings. I recently bought a whole tin and got it in a latte at David’s tea. It tastes just as good – if not better! – with milk, some agave, and a dusting of cinnamon on top.

This is now one of my favourite teas!
