86 Tasting Notes

Jasmine Tea from Fujian Tea

they also have this bagged. but i couldnt taste/smell the jasmine very much…so im wondering is there really that huge a difference between the loose leaves in the tin and that bagged ones when they have the same name?

i will try steeping with 2 bags next time.

Pouchong from ABC Tea

my first steep: hardly tasted anything. astringent feel – i guess it needed a rinse :)

action: boil the leaves in pot of water, added another teaspoon of leaves, steeped longer

2nd steep: i can taste something. it is not bitter. so longer steep is good and not harmful :)

Strawberry Burst from Wissotzky Tea

I love the scent of this tea!

The longer this is brewed the better because it is a tisane :) Nice enough on its own but you might want to add a bit of sweetener.

chinese tea from kangrentang.com

got this at an asian store. tastes more like wood than tea. did not sense any licorice. but maybe its merits lie in the health benefits :P

Jasmine Green Tea from Good Earth Teas

it is jasmine enough for me ^^ not too keen on the green component of the tea anyhows. for the 2nd steep, i combined it with loose chamomile that i had earlier today. nice combination :D

Japanese Green Tea from Kirkland Signature

I’m not really much of a green tea person..maybe because I am not patient enough to wait for a minute after boiling? This one turns out okay for me most of the time but I’m excited to try good green tea that I’ve only recently read about.

Constant Comment from Bigelow

the flavor was stronger than i expected. i dont usually steep my teas for too long, it tasted better by the 2nd and 3rd steeps :)

i tried mixing it with a plain black tea and steeping for a shorter time. tasted better.

i love how this flavor mellows down and mixes with my other teabags in one mug :)

Tazo Organic Chai Filterbag Tea from Tazo

Not bad for bagged chai. Add milk and sweetener and you’ll be good to go. Saving this for when I’m too lazy to make my own :)

Cranberry Pomegranate from Stash Tea Company

probably had to add honey, it was kinda bland for a tea that had 2 fruit flavors. i dont think i tasted the rooibos in it the first time. will update

Tension Tamer from Celestial Seasonings

i love this blend, it’s mostly mellow but had a small but high note to it that makes me smile

Strawberry Burst from Wissotzky Tea

First tried this tea when a friend went to Israel and bought me a box. I loved it..so much that I super-saved it for special occasions only.

And then I found out that they sell it online here in the US. Ordered to fill up the free shipping quota. I just knew they would all be good.

English Breakfast Tea from Trader Joe's

Taste-wise, it is okay.

It’s funny though, how a non-decaf tea made me feel so relaxed :)

Can be used to make chai.

Sleepytime from Celestial Seasonings

I like this classic blend of Celestial’s – beats plain chamomile though sometimes plain is good too…especially if you use whole flowers of the non-bagged kind :)

Earl Grey (loose leaf) from Twinings

This is the tea that captured me…and sent me off to seek even more delicious teas. I did not know it could be so good. Thus began my foray into the world of loose teas and online tea shopping :)

Chai was my first love, and later fell hard for Earl Grey. Will always have a soft spot in my heart for tisanes. Read my tea love story in my wordpress blog (link below).

Relatively new to the world of loose leaf but not to tea, passionate, eager to learn, and certified tea addict. I have a long way to go but oh, how I want my friends to get into tea too! I want to offer good teas at good prices so if you want to try some samples, check out my blog :)
