This is without a doubt one of the worst teas I have ever drank, and I have nearly 400. It was sour and bitter. It was somewhat off tasting. I didn’t actually buy it. I bought something else and was sent this instead by an Aliexpress vendor. I have mixed feelings about this vendor. I absolutely LOVE the teawares he sold me and he did the right thing when I lodged a dispute over being sent a tea different from what I ordered. He agreed to the partial refund I requested. If I had known how bad this tea was I would have requested a full refund. I steeped this twice with 7.5 g of leaf in a 220 ml gaiwan. A beautiful gaiwan I bought from the same seller. I like his teaware so much I will still order from him again, just not tea. But I digress, i steeped it first for 15 sec then for 10 sec. It was not worth a third steep.

This seller sells absolutely great teaware. If this is an example of his tea avoid it.

Maybe just avoid puerh. I and another Steepster member have bought black tea from him without incident. His prices are not always the cheapest but he does have good sales. I’m glad you like your teaware Allen.

Its good to know that some of his other teas are good.

I had a Tanyang sourced directly from a farmer who sells on taobao, and my friend bout two Laoshan. The Laoshan aren’t labeled as such in the description but are as such on the packaging and the leaf looked like it. My friend was happy with it. I have a feeling that with many of the teas he is more a taobao/small reseller. A number of the Ali. Dealers are. You’ll start to notice the repetitive adds. Some have business on both platforms and then you have wholesalers and independent producers.

I am Allan. I live and work in Long Island, New York. I have been amassing a tea collection for nearly two years and have spent way too much money. I now try to buy mostly Puerh as I like it most and it lasts nearly forever. Black tea has a habit of going bad. If anyone is interested in tea swaps I am open to ideas and have quite a cupboard.
