I had high hopes for this brick because a 200g bing by the same tea factory was so damn good. That was also called Lucky Dragon, I forget the year. I also bought it from Streetshop88. This tea was not bad, it just started out with a flavor that I am not fond of, wet wood or bamboo depending on how you want to describe it. After several steeps the brick began to mellow out and lose this flavor and evolve in to a mildly sweet brick. It never developed that abiding sweetness that is the hope of all ripe teas however. It was not a bad tea, just not a great tea. In fact, to someone who is a fan of the taste of wet wood it is a bargain worth buying at under $20. It did get much better as I resteeped the leaves. I don’t recommend this tea and I don’t not recommend this tea, it is just not to my tastes, it might be to yours.

I steeped this tea ten times in a 170ml teapot with 10.4g leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, 20 sec, 25 sec, 30 sec, and 45 sec. This tea was pretty weak at ten steeps. It would not go much more than twelve steeps.

strange name, fitness brick!

Cwyn

How long have you been storing it?

AllanK

About a month and a half. And yes it has a strange aspect to its name. I don’t think drinking it will make me any fitter.

AllanK

I am thinking this tea might have been better with less in the way of leaves.

Cwyn

Sounds like it is very strong!

I am Allan. I live and work in Long Island, New York. I have been amassing a tea collection for nearly two years and have spent way too much money. I now try to buy mostly Puerh as I like it most and it lasts nearly forever. Black tea has a habit of going bad. If anyone is interested in tea swaps I am open to ideas and have quite a cupboard.
