I swapped out the fall teas on the seasonal side of my tea counter for winter and holiday ones this morning, and thought I would celebrate with a cuppa. I haven’t switched my mugs yet, maybe later today…
I really like this tea. I think Jingle Bells takes the top spot for me as far as their holiday teas go, but this is a strong second. Sweet and cookie-ish without being over-the-top, and has a sort of buttery shortbread flavor to me. It maybe reminds me more of a pastry than a cookie, since it’s quite buttery. But overall it’s still light and not too cloying for me, even though I don’t tend to love overtly desserty teas these days. Definitely nutty too, almost a bit like a less-sweet almond croissant with toasted sliced almonds sprinkled on top. I wouldn’t describe it as white chocolate, but I guess I can see that since white chocolate is quite rich and buttery. I also like that it’s slightly (not overly) brisk, as it helps cut the rich flavoring. Makes a delicious milk tea too!
Anyway, an old favorite that I like to restock. I don’t usually get it every year, as I don’t drink it fast enough. I purchased the tin last year because it was just too pretty to miss, and it’s still unopened as I sip through this pouch first. Oops? :P
