drank Pistachio Cream by DAVIDsTEA
75 tasting notes

A mix of Mulberry Magic and Toasted Almond. Very creamy without too much actual cream. Sweet, savory and very comforting like its parents. Of all the three new blends this would be second place. I can imagine sitting by the fire enjoying this one for months until the Winter collection easily. I also imagine that due to its neutral flavor it could blend well with the power house chai blends on the Fall Menu.

Say for instance Pistachio Cream mixed with Pumpkin Chai? Can you say Pumpkin Pie A La Mode? The possibilities are endless. I just found out I had a lactose sensitivity recently so these teas may just be my way of enjoying those specialties without worries. So this could be really cool! Cheers.

drank Cocoberry by DAVIDsTEA
75 tasting notes

Between Jumpy Monkey and Cocoberry I admit to liking this one a bit more. Mostly because the berries are more pronounced than the coffee. That being said I find that the coffee actually is what brings out the flavor and scent of the berries. But it could be just the buzz talking. (I had this one night that I was on very little sleep).

In short if you like the idea of having coffee without actually drinking it straight this might be a good option. Since you can fool your mind into thinking it isn’t drinking coffee. As you can tell I am no coffee drinker…so before I ramble on even further. Give Cocoberry a go, you might be surprised. Cheers!

When choosing through the two marzipan flavored options. I have to admit I’m glad I chose the one that leaned closer to the berry/grape side of the spectrum. It’s like a rich Merlot when brewed. Both in hue and flavor notes. The marzipan flavors simmer and tantalize the taste buds in the background like a perfect back-up band.

If going by dry mix alone one might flip that notion around. Because like Scribbles wrote it really is strongly aromatic. Much like a perfume really, in a good sort of way. If amaretto is your choice of perfume. In any case it is a great introduction to autumn to have this lovely fruit tisane and almost inspires one to visit a vineyard. It’s kind of cool that way.

A delicious fruity champagne that will tantalize your senses in dry form and when brewed. The combination of ingredients equal a sweet yet tangy pink elixir that is very fragrant indeed. I picked this one up today, looking to round out my collection of champagne and wine teas and I was pleasantly happy with this one. Because of that perfume more than anything else!

In my “Summer Valentine’s Week” mindset it just fit well with the music choices of the night and the lovely backdrop of a summer sunset. I do really recommend this tea for fruity tea lovers as the black tea notes are not as apparent as one would think. I believe it is there most likely to round out all the other flavors. Cheers and hope you get a chance to try this tea with your loved ones.

drank Redberry Tonic by DAVIDsTEA

It was the day after a nice relaxing day at the spa that I got the pleasure of trying this tea. The sweet tang of this rose elixir reminds me much of cranberry apples for some reason. Which definitely brought up pictures of the autumn harvest festivals and the Saanich Fair that we have on the island. All very pleasant images to say the least.

I can honestly say each sip was a piece of nostalgia which I’m guessing is the magic effect that David’s Tea was going for. Please let me know if you think that the magic is something different. But I think we can agree that it’s a great fit for their iced tea menu. Happy Tea Drinking Everyone. :)

Now for some positivity. It was yesterday morning when I tried this tea for the first time. Lord they were not kidding when they said it was tart! I totally get the visual of the “Queen of Tarts” that they were intending from the blood red hue of the elixir. But gosh it is a tea that has to be drunk slow to adjust to all the flavor notes.

I have not tried it hot yet but if I keep optimistic it probably is a little more nicer on the taste buds. I can say this though the energy provided by the tea made for a refreshing end to the day. So that’s probably one of its winning details. Cheers.

Have you ever had someone that you really cared about online that you had this almost psychic like bond with? That’s me with “Dan” (name changed to protect privacy). We’ve written collaborative stories with one another for over five years and our creativity together mesh so well that he can usually tell what I’m going to write before I even write it. And I can do so for him.

Well for a year or so he took a break from being online to catch up on his reading, gaming and work. He never told anyone and seemed to just disappear… suffice to say naturally I missed him a lot because of the bond. Last night as I was headed to sleep I got a ring on my phone from him. He said he never should have been away as long as he had and that he was back for good. That we’d have a chance to write together again tomorrow (which is today).

It made me cry tears of happiness and I was on cloud nine allowing me to have wonderful dreams that night. In the morning I was more than a little bit blissful and completed my usual daily tasks with a joyful sort of energy. However as the day neared to a close he never showed up like promised. I know I should’ve been prepared for this since he’s done this before but it…disappointed me greatly.

So to cheer myself up I decided to brew myself up a cup of “Pink Lemonade”. The sweet rose tisane with it’s refreshing scent and tartly sweet taste really did the trick to bring my smiles back. I love how similar this herbal blend is to the real thing without the added sugar. It truly is a ‘pick me up’ in a cup and I have no doubt that it would be perfect iced~. Thank you Murchie’s Tea & Coffee shop. :)

i had this one while i was out there but at murchies in “pop” form…was pretty tasty! Sorry you had another round of disappointments :(

Thanks for the support Sil, I truly do appreciate it. It’s people like you that make the hurdles all the more easier to overcome. I haven’t let it get to me as much as I had before (when I kept it all bottled up inside) since I know now that I can talk it out and can focus on more positive things easier. :)

I’ll be sure to try out your suggestion of having this tea as a soda pop thank you once again. :)

Sil

Heh….all I could think of just there was that scene from the genie is like beeeee yourself….only i always hear him saying beeeeeee positive!

Cassie Eng

Haha, that sounds just right. <3 :)

I love strawberries and Earl Gray so suffice to say I was happy to find that David’s had a tea that combined both. In a complimentary way that made the flavors harmonize wonderfully as well. The aroma is filled with all the classical charm that one looks for in a good Earl and paints a picture of an old English afternoon tea.

I admit to visualizing the Old English Rose tea set placed on a crisp white tablecloth with this tea served in the delicate tea pot and on one of the plates a tower of buttery scones topped with strawberry compote. The clotted cream for the delicacies placed just within reach all at the same time. It’s that reminiscent of a picture with every sip.

I thank a grandma who stopped in to David’s this morning for the inspiration to have this tea tonight to wind down after a long day. She may have purchased the Cream of Earl Gray but it served to remind me of this one. I think I might’ve even suggested this one to her when she was trying to decide an Earl but I digress. This is one great blend!

drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA
75 tasting notes

I can really hardly believe I haven’t done a review of this one yet! Especially since I only have one serving of the tea left. But I guess it happens to the best of us, haha. With the prediction of cooler weather to the island and a trip up to the farms this morning for some of the early harvest vegetables I thought I’d go with a comforting classic for my tea of the day.

Buttery, smoothly rich and warms all the way down. The taste of Toasted Walnut is just the subtle treat to drink to wind down. Yet at the same time the clean sweet notes of the green tea keeps your mind refreshed just enough to keep you energized for whatever the rest of the day might bring. Be it gardening or even curling up under the umbrella reading. Either way you are good to go.

drank Guava Cadabra by DAVIDsTEA
75 tasting notes

This is probably going to mimic the Pink Passion fruit review but it cannot be helped. I admit I have never tried Guava before. That being said my curiosity was perked for David’s Tea’s introduction to the pretty fruit. The dry mix is almost as tropically aromatic as the brew itself. I was blown away.

Now onto the flavor itself. The guava fruit I admit adds a semi-sweet nuance to the rose hued elixir akin to perhaps a kiwi? I can imagine it being a great popsicle if frozen. The next endeavor for the company for a summer treat. A Tea popsicle, purchased for about $3? What do you all think of that? Wow, almost went on a tangent there.

But yeah, I think the tea is grand and I thank David’s for introducing me to another delicious fruit. I think they’ve really pulled me over to the tropical side of the flavor tree with their spring and summer collections. I almost fear (with happy anticipation) what they have planned for the Fall. A return of Mama’s Apple Pie? We can all wish. :) Cheers!
