Forget everything else I have looked at.
This is what I want for Christmas :-)

MissB

Nice! I’m still a Breville convert, only because it steeps it all for me as well as ensures the temperature is perfect.

CelebriTEA

Hmmm…lol…you keep me thinking, but I love the fact that it will keep the water your preferred temp ALL DAY!!

MissB

Ah, yes. That is the one default/downfall of mine. I do wish it kept things hotter, longer, especially when I’m brewing a liter of tea at a time.

looseTman

Happy New Year CelebriTEA, What did Santa bring you for Christmas?

mrmopar

looseTman good to see you back!

looseTman

mrmopar That’s very kind of you!
I’m very glad to be back. I’ve been out of town for several weeks helping my elderly parents. My father just had successful total knee replacement surgery. I’ve been too busy to taste & review tea or even to logon to Steepster. My diminishing stash of TeaVivre Premium Keemun Hao Ya & Verdant Laoshan Black teas have kept me going. I missed all the Christmas tea sales too! :-( As you can imagine, I now have a quite a backlog of teas to review which will take time for me to work through.

mrmopar

I am just glad you guys are ok! Tasting notes and reviews are not what caused my gladness!

I can’t sleep…blah…so I have switched from Chamomile to Berry Good &
This truly is Berry Good :-)
I am going to have to try some more Pu-erhs
I really like this…very nice take…the earthy base on this one is not so intense, and
it allows the berries to really shine. It has kind of a muddy aroma, but the taste is super fresh.
This would be especially nice in the summer, but the thoughts of summer it is bringing
to me are quite relaxing at the moment.
This is sweet, but not overly sweet…just a slight hint of tartness…very nicely balanced.
The re-steep lacks this hint of tartness, but is still worth drinking.
The berry flavor is so authentic, like a mixed berry jam.
With all due respect, I disagree with Sil…the base really makes this one.
I feel (personally) the base makes this a solid tea that can stand alone; whereas another
base (such as a white) might make it overly sweet without much depth.
This is really nice! Thanks, Whiskey Buzz
I can see this being a Summer Staple :-)

CelebriTEA

This has a light lingering aftertaste which is truly and simply FRESH!

Not as aromatic as the previous chamomile this evening, but it is
Smooth and calming with a lovely after taste.

This is a lovely chamomile… I am sipping a sample, not having any idea where it came from.
But chamomile is a favorite of mine at bedtime or when I am feeling under the weather.
The addition of honey and vanilla makes this one a smooth operator :-)

Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Ginger, with a not so subtle peppery note.
I cannot taste the vanilla , which is really disappointing…
This is not nearly as good as I imagined it would be, but not awful…
Next time I will try it with some cream.

CelebriTEA

I am feeling sorry for this tea…lol…I find myself comparing it with
Yu Lu Yan Chai from Verdant and it CANNOT compare…
it has some similar elements, but completely out of proportion :-(

Mmm…this is some BOLD, In Your Face FRESH Coconut
It does have a vanilla creme flavor that you taste more as it is cooling down.
The cool down is also about the time I start tasting the crust.
DO NOT USE HONEY to flavor this….I tried it with the first cup & it was a mistake.
This tea can hold its own, but can be easily overpowered by honey.
I like it with just a touch of stevia. :-)

This is bloody disgusting.
It smells lightly frangrant, but no real flavor:-(

Well, this could be better, but it not bad.
I hate that they put Darjeeling into the mix
as that is one of my least favorite teas.
But, this is nice and refreshing.
I enjoy the taste of the black tea mixed with Ceylon
as well as the light flavor of the Bergamot here.
You can definitely smell the lavender before steeping…
very nice…it also lingers on the palate in a lovely way
after the tea is gone.
This cannot match the Creamy Earl Grey From David’s Teas
that Whiskey Buzz sent me,
But for the occasional pick me, it is worth the coins (not expensive)
& on a different tip, the flow through infuser bag is super nice
for a tea bag…allowing the tea leaves to expand nicely.

CelebriTEA

P.S. please allow this one tea to cool lightly before drinking,
It enables you to more fully enjoy the exchange between the lavender
and Bergamot.. Enjoy :-)

drank Passion by Tazo

Mmm…first brew is really tasty…
the tartness of the hibiscus, rose hips & orange peel is perfect…not harsh or overdone.
Would go fabulously with my Thanksgiving ham(brown sugar cured)
with the orange marmalade glaze… I love this hot or cold THE FIRST TIME..
when it brews such a lovely lady pink that definitely spells passion.
Hot, cold, or in the afternoon, the cinnamon cannot be tasted at all.
The tropical flavors and licorice root mentioned cannot be tasted,
but sure lend to the sort of tropical lemonade scent
that can make you fall head over heels in love.
Unfortunately, there is no lingering aftertaste and
the resteep is a dusty, unflattering shade of purple
bearing little resemblance to the initial steeping and devoid of the initial scents.
I cannot call it bad, though. For an inexpensive brew, I can happily fall in love,
over and over again…I simply must remember this is a short term lover (wink).

This is really good and robust. Not an average cup of Chai~oh No!
Please try it with honey to bring
the full complexity of it through fruition.
I taste the Ginger in it first & most predominantly.
Thank God for the Ginger this morning as
my tummy was really hurting when I woke up.
The Cinnamon and the Cardamom
make the Ginger more complex and palatable.
The Sweet Potato and Peppercorn are far more subtle
and the honey…draws it all the way out.
There is not enough vanilla in it for me to taste, but enough
to make it creamy. This is the dark and spicy chai
you are dreaming of folks.
If you are a Chai lover…call Verdant and ask for this…
It might not be available YET,
but with all this fuss…surely it will be in everyone’s fortune cookie <3
I did not mention some of the other ingredients, but that is not that they did not contribute.I believe the making is in the mix ;-)
I steeped for 2 minutes and added 2 tsp honey and
a tablespoon of cream
(vs the 1/3c. of milk listed on the TOMBC sheet)
This is likely something you have to play with yourself as I suspect most people have a peculiar preference
as to how they prefer their Chai.
Try it your way~ you cannot go wrong :-p

CelebriTEA

The lingering aftertaste has a earthy taste of the burdock root
with ginger and a subtle hint of saffron…the aftertaste alone will leave you begging for more.

Bonnie

You had this the same way I love it too! This isn’t like every other Chai, not a better version of an old favorite but really unique. I also called and emailed David and Lily because this is so good.

mrs.stenhouse12

I am going to send them a facebook message about this one as well! I still have to try it stovetop, I am hoarding it just in case it doesn’t become available, I don’t want to run out of this one! Love the earthiness and the ginger. I need to try it with honey too!

CelebriTEA

Loved your note, Bonnie~ made me try it!
Miss Lena, I don’t blame you for hoarding it :-)

CelebriTEA

Ok, I just did a resteeping of this for an afternoon dessert…
Very rich and fulfilling Bonnie was so RIGHT~
Not like any other Chai, and this NEEDS to be a regular.
I just feel so bad for anyone not getting to try this….Special Chai
