I received a sample of this when I purchased a teapot from Red Blossom. It’s a really nice tea. Nicely floral, buttery, a bit vegetal, and maybe very slightly grainy. It’s not grassy, bitter, or vegetal in any unpleasant way. Very nice if you like very floral green oolongs.

I really liked this a lot. I purchased this tea from David’s mostly so I’d get free shipping, and I was curious to try an Earl Grey cream. I would definitely restock this.

I don’t have much time to write about this. I’m not quite sure about how I feel about this one yet. I enjoyed it, of course, but it combines flavors that I have not experienced together before, and I feel like I need to try it again to know if this one is for me or not.

This is really good. Tastes just like the name describes, and I’m not sure what else to say about it. The flavoring is nice and subtle, and not at all artificial tasting. Now I really want to try the strawberry version. Can’t wait to read those reviews…

I’ve been drinking a lot of Butiki teas in the past few days. I have placed three orders with them so far this year, so I guess it’s good that I am drinking some of it! I love this tea! It’s so malty and full-bodied. This was a perfect tea to have after a big breakfast. I can’t wait to try what a 4-minute steep is like…But then I think I will give this to Casey to bring to work, because he will love this too.

I’m trying to drink this one before it gets way too old. I went through a phase where I was really into Darjeeling first flush teas, and then I went through a phase where I really wasn’t, so I have quite a few to sip down. This one is still really good, and I remember liking it a lot when I first had it too. Looking forward to trying Butiki’s Darjeelings again this year!

I also still have at least one 2012 FF to finish off…!

I have to give this tea a good rating because I usually don’t like peach-flavored anything. I usually find that the peach flavor is over-done and horribly artificial tasting. While I still get a bit of that peach gummy ring flavor in here, it is nicely balanced with the other flavors and ingredients such that I don’t find it nearly as offensive as I normally do. This captures the flavor of a peach Lambic pretty well.

I was actually able to correctly identify the spices before I read the description of this- cinnamon and allspice. It tastes pretty fruity to me, and my first impression was that it tasted a bit like a spiced fruit punch, or some sort of fruit cocktail with dark rum. The orange is apparent, but I also can smell apples, and some cherries or plums. Mmmm. This reminds me of Meghanne’s plum kuchen. Yum yum. Oh, but this one is also drying my throat today, so there’s that one drawback.

Am I crazy or something? The first thing I smelled in this was coconut, but apparently no one else got that from this tea. Casey has a cold. Maybe I am getting sick too? I’m tempted to add some nutmeg to this…Now to see if I have any.

Flavors: Butter, Coconut, Vanilla

You are not alone;) I had a cup of Silk Dragon by the Tea Merchant and was pretty sure it’s vanilla coconut oolong.

I like this pretty well. It reminds me very much of pecan pie with some maple in the recipe. The one thing that puts me off a little bit about this tea is that the finish is a little bit dry and almost a bit chalky. Maybe I’ll try a shorter steep time. It would probably be great with some sugar. But besides the after-texture, the tea is wonderful.

Tea means so many things to me, it is so deep and it is revealing new meaning to me all the time.

Tea is a mindfulness practice, and a doorway through which to explore different philosophies, cultures, and historical times. Tea is hospitality and a way of communion. Tea is an art, a ritual, and a tradition. Tea is a complement to the foods I eat (preferably vegan desserts) and is something I enjoy collecting and curating.

I love to swap, or even just send people samples, so if there’s anything in my cupboard you’d like to try, just send me a message!
