drank Creme Caramel Rooibos by DAVIDsTEA
150 tasting notes

Well, the world didn’t end yesterday so that’s good. What isn’t so good is this tea. I’m a David’s Tea fan girl in general, but this tea left me wanting. Also, I suspect I’m a terrible vegan for even trying it. Creme Caramel with caramel bits in it almost defiantly has a dairy component, but in my tea mania I wasn’t even considering that. Six years vegan and I can still make a stupid mistake.

As a rooibos it tasted fine as all David’s Teas are high quality in my opinion, but I didn’t get much of a caramel flavor from it at all. It certainly didn’t provide as rich dessert tea and that was what I wanted. As I suspect it’s not vegan anyway, I won’t be trying it again. I have a nearly full 50g pouch if anyone wants it.

I know there is an ingredients page somewhere on the DT site, though I can’t find it. But, at the bottom of this page is a list of which teas contain dairy products that might be helpful in the future! http://www.davidstea.com/faq

Yeah, there are always simple ways to avoid silly decisions. I loose all sense of reason when I’m in a tea ordering frenzy. Lesson learned… (It’ll totally happen again). Thank you for the link.

I’m confused too. There is a list of teas that would seem to contain dairy on the David’s Tea website, but then under the list there’s a caveat saying that the dairy is only in trace amounts. I’m not concerned about trace amounts of dairy from shared equipment, so I would still consider drinking the teas’s on that list if they don’t have a deliberate dairy component. Oh well, at least we don’t have to agonize over this one :)

Oh, I can relate. I forget about things like disliking ginger when I’m in a tea frenzy.

I really liked this one when I first started frequenting DT, but quickly tired of it. Like you said, roobios is the predominant flavour and it’s not what you want from this tea.

Faith

I’ll take it, if you still have it!

veronica

If you haven’t given it away yet, I’d love to try it!

I’m an animal loving vegan foodie, and a card carrying tea fanatic! Didn’t you get your card?

I typically drink my black tea with a splash of almond or coconut cream and a dash of turbinado sugar or stevia. My green teas I typically drink straight, and the same goes for most of my other teas with an occasional exception. I live on the edge!

Please check out my website Cookin’ Vegan at www.cookinvegan.com if you’re hungry.

I’m also a bit of a knitwit. I have an Etsy shop where I sell pretty little knitted and knitting accessories called Baubles 4 Knitwits at www.Baubles4Knitwits.etsy.com.
