The freshly opened package gave off a strong floral smell. There was a generous amount of bright green leaves mixed in with obviously aged ones. Course the art on the wrapper is fantastic. But is the tea fantastic?

Steep 1: After a rinse, I poured my first steep (which was under 10 seconds, Steepster won’t let me go lower then 15.). It gave me very strong notes of vegetable sweetness. Something like a beet. The liquid is surprisingly green.

Steep 2-4: A strong grass taste comes out in addition to the sweetness. Reminds me of freshly cut grass.

Steep 5 and beyond: The grass taste keeps getting stronger as the sweetness slowly disappears. I noticed hints of wood and other tastes of the forest came out. I steeped this all day long and it was still going strong.

Definitely recommend it. Probably will be buying a tong to age myself. It starting off with that young sweet green taste and shifting to forest flavors is brilliant. Just like its mix of young and old trees. If you want to buy it and drink right away its perfectly fine to do so. Its just that good

The dry leaves have a familiar smell I can’t exactly pinpoint. The first things that pop to mind is a mix of orange and bbq sauce. I know that’s really odd and specific.

It stays very consistent and nets you a ton of steeps. I have been drinking it for hours now. Its has a slight fruity taste and gains a malty undertone after a few steeps. Its to bad this is only available for the month is September with the magazine. Would be a great daily drinker.

Tried it a few different ways. Never get much taste out of it. Its alright, not bad. I get a burnt sugar taste from it with a bit of woody aftertaste. It goes a lot of steeps I’ll give it that. Can’t recommend it, cause there is a lot of better options for orange herbal teas.

That’s interesting: there should be a lot of flavor there! Did you rest the tea when it came in?

With the chance of looking like a fool, what do you mean by rest? The tea sat around for a bit before I drank it. I’m sure you know how that goes. Almost always have a never-ending back catalog.

Gotcha, it’s best to let tea rest for a week before you try it if it’s come off a plane (air shipment seems to really throw tea off), but it sounds like you’ve had it for a while. The tea is always really intensely flavorful for me, so I wonder what went wrong this time…sorry you had a less than ideal experience with it!

Opening the package brings a smell of green tea and roast.

1st Steep: The first steep has a light taste of green wood and roast. Very weak

2nd Steep: The green woody taste turns into grass and gets a lot stronger leaving a dry feeling in the mouth.

After that nothing big changes. Started turning bitter around steep 6. I don’t have a strong opinion either way. If it sounds good to you, try it.

I got this as a bonus pack in from an order months ago. It has a very, very strong vegetable flavor. I got wide tastes of root veggies like carrots and beets the whole time. A slight roasted flavor in the early steeps. If this sounds like your kinda thing def buy it. I steeped it for hours on end and it never got weak and the taste stayed consistent.

It starts off with almost no taste. Let it soak a bit at first to get the ball open. After its open you get an extremely earthy strong taste straight up tastes like grass and moss. Just like a forest smells. Tastes way more like a pureh typically does and almost nothing like an oolong. Lasts for a ton of steeps. Just not really my thing.

It starts off with a light roasted and sweet taste. It quickly grows into a heavy roast and then around steep 8 switches around into a sweet taste. Not a heavy one but an extremely pleasant flavor that contrasts and enhances the toasty flavor reminds me of apples somehow. Been steeping it for a couple hours now and it hasn’t given out at all. Highly recommend it.

Very solid daily drinker. Has a very pleasant roasted taste without getting overpowering. Lasts for many steeps. Can go all day and it won’t lose taste much even after a dozen steeps.

One of my favorite teas I’ve had. This tea starts out with a nice buttery and light popcorn taste. Not to mention it fills the room with those flavors almost the whole time. Very pleasant, no incense needed with this. Over time it expands out to include toast, rice and root vegetable flavors. Very smooth on the sip and swallow. Highly recommended.

Got a small 5g sample of this in a larger order.

1st-2nd Steep: I get some notes of wood, charcoal and less so honey on the swallow.

3rd-5th Steep: Some flavor of root vegetables come in. Particularly carrot.

6th-9th Steep: The sweetness comes back stronger and the charcoal gets more fiery.

10th & Beyond: Stays similar and slowly fades out.

Good solid tea and highly recommended.
