Twelve Days of Tea 2021 – Day Twelve

Honestly, I wasn’t too excited to see this one. Chocolate in tea – you know? However, I added eggnog and I’m in eggy Cookie Dough heaven. Soo good. I’m not getting too much “chai” but that’s fine. I’ll have to see what this tastes like before the milk drop (or not, because it’s seriously perfect with nog). Like Nik, I’m getting caramel mocha notes from the chocolate too, which is interesting.

Advent Last Thoughts: I haven’t made tasting notes for all 12 days yet – but, as many of you can imagine, I’m super happy with this box (is it a secret I like 52Teas a lot? lol). The incredibly bold flavours were a lovely contrast to my two French advents, and the concepts are (as always) unique and playful. And, of course, it marks another good year of tea coming to a close.

Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate, Cookie, Earthy, Mocha, Sweet

This does sound like the Advent collection everybody was collectively the happiest with.

I like that we got to vote on the selection too. Makes it feel specifically curated for a lot of us. :)

“This does sound like the Advent collection everybody is collectively the happiest with” YAY!!! (Anne does the happy dance!)

Kittenna

I definitely agree! (Nevermind that I’ve only actually tried 2 of the teas at this point, haha.)

Shae

I voted on this one and then completely forgot to go back and order it somehow. I have regrets.

52Teas

Shae – I still have some of this tea remaining: https://www.52teas.com/shop/p/cookiedoughchaiblacktea

I did not realize you had any of these for sale! Thank you! Looks like I’m about to make my first purchase of 2022. :D

Bio

I started my Steepster loose leaf adventure back in 2012. I can’t say I’m completely new anymore, but I still view oolong as a magical, extraterrestrial creature that unfurls in water.

My favourites are teas like Milk Oolong, Silver Needle, and Japanese Sencha/Gyokuro, or fruity and floral flavoured ones. However, I generally enjoy ALL the teas, including a good old cup of Earl Grey or Breakfast blend.

Less Preferred Flavours/Ingredients:
Stevia, Apple, Cocoa Nib, Almond, Licorice, Cinnamon-forward blends, Chinese Sencha

Subjective Rating System:
I don’t give a lot of low ratings out, since a) I tend to grab tea I know will appeal to me, and b) I don’t have a lot of strong dislikes.

90-100: Favourites. The Desert Island Teas.
80-89: Loved teas. Possibly staple-worthy.
70-79: Good teas, but I’m less likely to repurchase. Minor quibbles.
60-69: Ok teas. Likely a few preference and/or quality issues.
50-59: Cup of meh. Will do in a pinch.
11-49: Varying levels of undrinkable tea.
1-10: Nightmare tea from the chaos realms. This tea is the embodiment of the primordial swamp, an unholy abomination. It’s very gross and I’m almost positive it doesn’t exist.
