Dry Leaf Nose: Blueberry and oceanic nose, sweet and fruity with a sea-shore edge.

Liquor: Clear green liquor with a blueberry and oceanic nose – interesting, because blueberries often flourish in geographical locations that are close to the ocean

Flavour: The blueberry note is prominent but definitely challenged by the sea lettuce which adds a new dimension to the blend. The cranberry adds sweetness and the green tea contributes to the entire flavour.

Dry Leaf Nose: Fruity with the kiwi making a primary appearance and the apple sweetening the nose. The tea taste is apparent, but sits in the background.

Liquor: Green-gold liquor, clear and aromatic with the fruit above the green tea.

Flavour: Interesting kiwi notes are prominent with the citrus note supporting this. The apple pieces are sweetening the liquor and the green tea notes are apparent and add a soothing and classic roundness to the blend.

Sounds yummy! Didn’t see it when I ordered this week online so I assume it’s not out yet? BTW, I have to mention the exceptional customer service I experience with you at all times here in Montreal. I placed my order on Monday, and not only did it arrive at my door 2 days after, but the lovely Natalie made sure I get the samples I requested, I love you guys!

Is there a red-rooibos-free variety? I get migraines from red rooibos teas, although so far, green rooibos is safe. Just curious!

DAVIDsTEA

Unfortunately, this is the only option for the time being but not the only cake tea that we’re launching this April.

Maria Eve

So excited for this tea words can’t describe! Love all things birthday cake flavoured!

Plunkybug

Oooh! This sounds good! Hopefully the rooibos isn’t too prevalent, since I am not overly fond of it.

Maria Eve

K..so really not that excited anymore…and kida disappointed! Went online today to purchase and saw the ingredients list:
Rooibos, honeybush, green rooibos, freeze-dried ice cream bits (Milkfat and nonfat milk, corn syrup, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, strawberry puree(strawberries, hight fructose corn syrup, sugar water, modified food starch, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, FD&C Red #40), whey, cocoa (processed with alkali) stablilized and emulsified by mono and diglycerides, guar gum, cellulose gum and carrageenan, articifical flavoring*, Red #40, and vegetable annatto color), sprinkles (Sugar, corn starch, partially hydrogenated veg. oil, soy lecithin, dextrin, confectioner’s glaze, natural/artificial flavoring*, Red 40 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake, Carnauba wax, Yellow 5 Lake, Blue 1 Lake, Red 3 and Red 40).
:( Your teas are normally much more natural…wish you could have made it with better ingredients! Unfourtunately won’t be buying this one!

Plunkybug

Ooh, hmmm. High fructose corn syrup is definitely to be avoided. Might have to give this one a pass based on this ingredient list.

katgolik

It does happen to be called BIRTHDAY CAKE so I’ll give it try regardless of the ingredients ..it’s an indulgence tea so it shouldn’t be a surprise that it’s an INDULGENCE of ingredients ..not bad to have one once in a while…moderation always though. and to each their own…cup of tea.

katgolik

It’s on my order list right now..can’t wait to try!
