AH how i missed this flavour! Not really a breakfasttea for me. I prefer a tea with a bit more briskness/astringency in the morning. Something that really packs a punch! I feel i really have to start exploring assam teas for this purpose. Pretty much never tried assam varieties.
first cup: Brownish golden with a heavy maltiness and sweetness. There is lots of honey and ripe fruit in there.
Since i usually do consequtive steepings to prevent cooloing of the leaf with yunnan blacks second and third steeping is mixed in a pitcher.
This tea in particular turns earthy/woody if leaf is allowed to cool.
second/third cup: Now there is a hint of astringancy with less sweetness than the first cup. Still a strong malty flavour mixed with dried fruit. Perhaps now more citrus fruit.
Next time i will use a cup for all steepings to avoid mixing. Or perhaps mix all three steepings to even out the flavour more.
All in all a superb tea!
And the dry leaf is among the most beutiful ivé ever seen. long straight golden needles, none broken.

Sipdown!
120ml yixing, filled to 1/2 with leaf.

wash/25s added 15s for a couple of infusions.

This is what i call an oolong. Full of smokey burnt flavour. very powerful. Long aftertaste. To bad its all gone. :/
Luckily i have a bag of Gue zi jin wuyi oolong waitning for my pleasure! :)
I wonder what tea i will start my x-mas celebration with. :)

Nice ceylon, but lacks the complex flavours of my other ceylon “New Vithanakande”. Added a dab of honey to round up the flavour. Nice!

This tea is magnificent, one of the absolute best yunnan blacks ivé tried.
first cup is full of honey, so sweet and slightly malty. this time i actually added 1tsp of highquality forest honey to the last two cups. They tasted just like the first…. haha no need to add anything sweet to this tea. Never want to run out of this!

Superb as always! Really do hope i get a chance to restock!
Today i recieved my order from yuuki-cha. I´m looking forward to trying escpeically the Koubi-Shiage oolong as it is supposed to be somewhat like a japanese Da Hong Pao. Unfortunatly they packed my order wrong so i got another bag of hime-fuki instead of Hime-hikari. oh well. will try that next time. :)
