Not my cup of tea, my taste buds just don’t fancy assam. That said, the smell was out of this world vanilla! I definitely steeped it wrong though, because I didn’t taste any :(

I have one cup left to try again ^^

Hey hey, don’t keep an old box of this in your cupboard for two years because then it tastes like dust!~
Just a warning :)

This kept my holiday spirits up very high though! (I still have one more Christmas celebration left haha, some friends from Toronto are coming home!!!)

Ninavampi

I had the dust experience!… Sadly…

I’ve only cold brewed it so far, but this is a wonderfully smooth tea. Wow the coconut is creamy and strong, but not overpowering. I definitely need this one for my late night poster designing sprees. Like tonight…

I enjoyed this one, mostly because I think it’s great fun to try someone elses favorite! I’m looking at you aisling :D

It was a great black tea, I can see why it’s a staple in many cupboards. Just the right amount of sweet mint. oo and I ate one of the candies and it was sooo good. It’s creamy and dark, I tried it plain every time and haven’t even wanted to try it with additions.

I did do a half and half with this and read my lips to make them both last longer as I’m almost out of both :(

I couldn’t taste or smell anything beyond straight red rooibos.

Itsyknits

I wasn’t a big fan of this neither.

Faith

Hmmmm… always wanted to try this one. Now, maybe not?

Daisy Chubb

It might be worth it to try a bit, maybe 10g! But it’s not terribly exciting – I think the creme caramel rooibos has much more flavour

This tea was an amazing experience.

I have to say thank you David of Verdant Tea, as I received this as a sample! Sadly, it was a sample for the art contest (which ended a few months ago), which must have got held up by customs for no reason. But thank you! The tea is fueling my mug decoration for homemade gifts :) I’ll post pictures!

I had numerous steeps with this tea, but didn’t take notes the first time. I will the second time, as the sample was extremely generous!

The flavour notes I remember are that it was a baritone tea, but not a bass. (I’m with you on the music scale, Dinosara). Notes of caramel, super sweetness but in an earthy, grounded way. So complex! My favorite steeps were the ones with a currant/prune note to them, lately I’ve been loving to find hints of raisin in my tea.

Anyways, let the Christmas rush continue around me, I’m driving home in 45 minutes and I still have a heck of a lot to do!

Happy Holidays lovelies, I will have many notes when I return! O:

This sounds lovely! Verdant Tea has been getting some rave reviews on here. I should look them up.

Daisy Chubb

I feel the same! This is my first experience, but I think I might have to save up some funds and make a real order after Christmas :)

Uniquity

Free shipping to us Canadians, YAY! I ordered two ounces (one each of their blacks) and got two samples (nearly an ounce each as well) with! I want to order more from them, but need to drink some tea first!

Daisy Chubb

I hear that Uni :D Better get on it n_-

Plunkybug

How do you pick out all these notes? I think I need a tea tasting class to help connect the taste buds to the brain a bit more.

Daisy Chubb

For complex teas like this one (aka not flavoured DavidsTeas :D ), I read the tasting notes first to see what others found. Then as I sip, I try to find those notes as well! if I find them, I post them, and lately I’m finding as I drink other teas, I can pick out notes I’ve found in previous teas!

So that’s my advice to you, learning by imitation in my case :)

Plunkybug

Ahhh, ok! Thanks!

This tea is delish, but I’m not getting enough marshmallow for me.
If I could find a source for mini marshmallows (the real mini kind) and add them in myself, I totally would. The marshmallow root isn’t really doing it for me :(

I’m not getting a lot of genmaicha flavour either though. I’m more getting a texture, a sort of thick but creamy texture that is a bit sweet.

I’m still thankful this one was in the sampler though :)

Way more sweet than I expected that’s for sure!

Tastes just like Rockets Candies to a T.
So much rocket candy that I don’t think I can drink more than one cup.. but that’s because I once ate way too many rockets. I can’t find my photo proof, but I’m talking… 8 cups of rockets in a one month period. Good ol’ University.

Lisa

I was surprised by the sweetness of this one too! Definitely a dessert tea

licious

I had this exact same experience! Its difficult for me to get a whole cup down, even though I do enjoy it. The rocket-iness of it is just so overwhelming.

C-chan

I am entirely amused and happy that someone else thought of the rockets connection. That is THE first thing I thought of when I smelled and tasted the tea.

My favourite tea companies are DavidsTea and Verdant Tea. They please my palette in different ways – and I love them both for it.

I’m back bb!
