This is a nice sweet mint! I’m not normally a huge rooibos fan but I liked this one. It has a nice creamy vanilla flavor that rounds it out. I love peppermint tea, but it reminds me of being sick, this one doesn’t have the association for me and it’s still nice and minty. it’s much more dessert-like than herbal with the creamy flavoring, so it’s better with a good amount of sugar.

This is an odd one. It’s very very VERY light, for one, but it does have a flavor. Harney & Sons describes it as woodsy, and that’s actually pretty accurate, it’s delicately floral and peppery, not hot, but peppery in a green, leafy kind of way, and almost savory/herbal, like oregano or something. It has an unusual aroma too, a bit like dried orange flowers. Some might find it tastes “perfumey” but that’s not something I mind. I wish it was a little stronger though.

I’d really like to try the tisanes made from pure linden flowers to compare, since this includes leaves as well, in my sample packet there were a lot more leaves than flowers. They actually look really pretty, the leaves are so delicate you can see through them, they weren’t crushed beyond recognition either.

Also, this stuff is really soothing, it’s like chamomile or something. Bonus points for that in my book.

Sweet and herbal, not overly lavender for those who are shy of it, the basil-like taste of tulsi is prominent, and it’s naturally pretty sweet. With sugar added it tastes a lot like black licorice, especially if you have it with a couple salty crackers, oddly satisfying. It’s nice, but not my favoritest favorite ever.

I have some problems with anxiety, and this tea is a godsend. It is so relaxing, it makes it so I can keep calm and keep working if I need to work, and sleep peacefully if I need to sleep. I’ve tried a couple other lavender teas to compare, and for both the relaxing effect and the pure lavender taste, nothing beats Harney & Sons super blue.

Lavender is probably one of those polarizing, love-it-or-hate-it flavors. I personally love everything about it, down to the sharp minty-herbal quality it can have. This lavender is more floral than herbal, and if it’s brewed lightly it’s pretty soft, but it does have that cool camphorous edge to it, which I enjoy. It has a lot of natural sweetness to it as well, and adding just a smidge of sugar gives it a nice anise-like herbal sweetness. It has such a gorgeous floral aroma, I almost want to make the tea just to smell it.

Don’t let the color fool you though, it is strange looking. It can range from an oddly alluring dusky purple-blue to a dingy, off-putting gray to pale green, I’m sure there’s some trick to controlling the color, but I don’t know it.

This stuff is fantastic! I’d have to agree that the decaf version is missing a bit of the sparkle of the original, which just has a little extra something, but it’s just as sweet and deliciously spicy, and not too fiery to be approachable. It has so much cinnamon that there’s constantly a fine dust on the tin (that also happens to taste AMAZING >.>) It’s naturally very sweet, too much sugar actually takes away from it. I’ve drunk the regular version unsweetened and it was delicious, but the decaf is good with just a tiny spoon of sugar.

I also would have to disagree that it tastes like big red or red hots, I never liked those, and I love this stuff. It’s VERY cinnamon, and it is sweet, but it’s not cinnamon candy flavored at all to me. It has other things going on with the deeper clove and tea flavors, which are a bit better in the original version.

I love this! Enough spicy ginger to clear your sinuses and just enough peach, it’s even better sweetened with brown sugar! I wish I could find it still, no one seems to carry it in my area anymore.

Bio

I’m new to tea as a hobby, so my taste isn’t too refined, but my favorite teas are spicy, especially with lots of cinnamon, ginger or cloves. I also like fragrant floral herbal or white teas, and I’m interested in trying weirder florals like lavender. I also like flavored teas, Art of Tea’s Coconut Creme tea is a recent find that I really enjoyed.

Perfume is another hobby of mine, which is actually what led me to tea. They’re not actually all that different, surprisingly enough.

My rating system:

0: You couldn’t pay me.
25: Not my cup of tea
50: Meh, I’d drink it if a friend made me some, but I wouldn’t buy it.
75: Good! I’d buy this from time to time.
100: I would hunt this tea to the ends of the earth!
