I love banana flavored things, so it was super hard (and I failed) to resist this tea! I haven’t been a fan of 52’s genmaichas hot and this one was no exception. For some reason the flavors just don’t come out for me, which is a shame. Cold steeped has always been a different story and they come to life in a completely different way. Unfortunately, I put some of this in the fridge a few days ago and never got around to enjoying the cup until now. You know how over ripe bananas taste? I’m kinda getting hints of that, which I’m attributing to my days long steep and dehydrated banana having aged once rehydrated. It makes it more like a banana bread, not the bright fresh flavor that the bag smells like. I added a little creamer which amps up the toasty rice flavor nicely and am enjoying this cup.

I’m also now brainstorming how to make banana marshmallow treats after reading the tea description. Pulverizing dehydrated banana from Trader Joe’s could work, which I add to pancake batter often. So could dry banana pudding mix. So could banana extract. OR…. all three together for an over the top team banana? Maybe some powdered peanut butter added in? I need to go shopping for this experiment to come to life.

My name is Dustin and I like tea.

I’m an added flavor kind of tea fan, but have had a growing appreciation for plain. I want my tea to remind me of cookies and cakes with coconut and almond slices with a hint of chocolate drizzled on top. I want dancing ponies and flying monkeys shooting off fireworks! And no hibiscus. Hibiscus is the devil.
