I’m not a fan of oolongs but I keep getting sucked into trying them. With yummy names like “lemon pound cake” how can I resist?! I got a sample size of this in store and I’m surprised to say it is pretty good! I’m getting a lot of bright lemon/lemongrass flavoring and none of the cardboard flatness that I tend to get with oolongs. There is a little tang at the end of the sip, but most of it is lovely light lemon, like the scent of a lemon, not the taste of the fruit. I totally neglected this tea while steeping and left it sitting for several minutes, but it seems to deal with the abuse well. Although I’m enjoying this tea, I don’t think I would stock it in my cupboard, but it has been a fun tea to try.

This tea is disgusting. I have had and liked an herbal cocoa mint blend in the past (I recall the company had rooibos in the description), but it had been discontinued and I’ve been searching for a replacement since. This is not a proper replacement for it. All I can taste is watery rooibos with a little chocolate mint. The whole thing is weak and watery and unbalanced. I’m glad I found it in bulk and only bought a little bit of it. Bad tea makes expensive compost.

Almost finished with this tin! I FINALLY cold steeped it. I think it is a little too strong, which is fine if I want to drink it on ice, but I decided to carbonate it instead. It has a faint ginger scent that reminds me of ginger ale, but it lacks any bite that a good ginger ale has. How do they do that? Ginger flavor without the bite, so strange! It is generally pretty smooth and pleasant to drink, but still isn’t striking me as anything amazing. On occasion I will get the urge to have a cup of this tea, but reading over my reviews of not feeling strongly about it, I end up wondering why I will gravitate towards it.

I’ve gone through almost all of the bag of this without having made any notes! The horror! There is a some cardamon spicy flavor in taste and scent. Adding sugar perks it up a bit. Adding cream brings out the pistachio flavor, but dampens the spice, which is mostly in the scent right now. Overall I’m feeling like this is a nice cup, a fun experience, but not an I must stock up on it kinda tea. I have a cup or more to decide.

It’s been a while since I have had a flavored match and I forgot how much I love them! This sample has been sitting around for quite some time, but the pumpkin flavors are still shining through. I made a match a smoothie with the rest of this. Ice, soy milk and a little maple syrup. Simple, but I didn’t want anything to drown out the matcha flavors. I need to figure out a way to justify buying more matcha!

I’m really liking this tea. Started sipping my cup hot and was getting a nice comforting burn down my throat. Now that it has cooled, I get cinnamon and a hint of clove on top of the spice which is on top of muted strawberry. There is a slight flatness that appears as it cools, but it isn’t too distracting.

You got that?! Carbonated tea is awesome!!!! It adds an extra bit of refreshing to an already delightful tea. Adding the CO2 tricks my taste buds into registering things as a little sweeter without the sugar. I think I’m going to carbonate all my cold steeped tea from now on.

I did it again! I walked away from a cup of this tea and didn’t return until it was cool. It seems to loose a lot of it’s flavoring when cool and I mostly taste just the tea with a hint of pineapple. Where did pineapple come from?! Reheating and adding sugar… I’m still getting mostly pineapple. I can taste a little creaminess from the cashew that comes out more in the aftertaste. It’s not speaking to me.

I thought this was a herbal blend when I grabbed it at the store today. I’m a little disappointed, but it’s my own fault. I took a few sips when this mug was hot and noticed that the tea tasted cheap, but the flavors were alright. It had a sweetness to it, likely from the licorice, but it didn’t really have a licorice taste. I’m now getting back to this cup which has gone cold and the tea flavor is lost in the bright mint and cocoa. The mint is really the star and the chocolate flavor lays low. I can imagine this being very refreshing on a hot day served cold! Funny how mint is often a winter flavor, but is so appropriate for hot weather too! Overall I’m impressed with this tea for being bagged and a grocery purchase.

I can smell a ton of spices when sniffing my cup, but they aren’t coming through with the same strength in the sip, which I’m glad for because it would be a little overwhelming. On the sip I get an earthy background with syrup notes and the sweetness of cinnamon. The spices come back in on the aftertaste. After finishing a plate of what was likely the most bland pancakes I have ever made, this tea is a welcome relief to my taste buds. I decided that a little maple syrup was the perfect sweetener for this cup and it works out perfectly! It heightens all the flavors and brings out the high syrup notes that ride the entire sip. I still can’t tell if I’m picking up on actual pumpkin flavors or just the spices that hint at it, but that doesn’t make this cup any less enjoyable.
