I’ve had only a few white teas that I don’t like. This is not one of them. It’s got the melony hay taste. Tasty stuff—I’ll make sure to always have some of this around.

I’ve gotten into black teas a lot recently. Next, I’ll get into whites, oolongs, and raw puerh. If any has a good suggestion for those, please let me know! I’m still a tea rookie.

YS has a bitter melon oolong that’s nice. I’m also new to raw pu-erh, so once I try some samples from friends, I’ll let you know.

Looks good, thanks! Added it to my cart for the next order!

I’m drinking the 2016 Monkey Memorial raw puerh tea that Andrew gave me a while back (Thanks, Andrew!). It is pretty tasty. Notes of hay, greens, bitterness, and stonefruits.

This is a delicious tea—my favorite YS black so far. If you like LP’s Chocolate Genmaicha, then you’ll like this one. Lots of cocoa notes, very smooth, and a hint of spice and malt. I’ve tried it once gong fu and once western, which I prefer.

YAY! have been waiting for someone to pick it up and try it.

It’s a good one for sure. I hope they’ll have some of the Imperial grade of it left when they have their next sale. I also really like the Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong black tea as well. I’ll leave a note on that one in a day or two as well as about 5 other black teas (and one white tea) from YS in the next week. The Yunnan Black Gold Bi Luo Chun and Imperial Mojiang Golden Bud were good too but not to my liking in flavor profile as much. They were definitely less chocolate and fruity tasting and more bread and sweet potato tasting.

Sil

i may just need to break down and pick some up without a sale damnit.

Sil

and agree with you on Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, though the 2015 harvest was terribad compared to 2013 and 2014.

This is a tasty herbal. I’m drinking it with the Simply Better Tea Mug w/ strainer I got from the sale, which is still going if anyone is interested—25% off of the Vitacost teas and a free mug w/ strainer with $25+ tea purhcase. By just the smell of the loose leaf, I’d also recommend the black berry brulee tea, and the earl grey. The vanilla cookie one and the chamomile lavendar don’t smell the best.

I think that this tea would also be good cold and sweetened, though I usually prefer teas unsweetened.

This is a tasty tea. Lots of cocoa flavor coming out. It reminds me of hot cocoa I used to drink growing up. It’s definitely a sweeter tea.

I spent lots of time exploring different teas during my second year of drinking loose leaf tea. I still have lots of teas to try, but I’ve found that black teas are by far my favorite.

I’m just about out of black tea, so I’ve looked at reviews on Yunnan Sourcing’s teas and have picked out a few. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d appreciate hearing them!

Back to this tea, it also has a nice nutty taste, but does not have the burnt toasty notes of other genmaichas I have tried. Overall, this tea is very good and is the fastest tea I’ve gone through yet.

This is a pretty good tea. The blueberry reminds me of these blueberry scones my mom and I had last summer. It amazes me how smells can transport you back to a different place and time. I’ll try it iced sometime and post my thoughts.

I’m drinking this cold with ice. It’s very enjoyable, especially with the high heat here. The flavoring is nice and not overpowering. Another tea that I’m grateful to be drinking. Thanks, LP!

This tea is fantabulously delicious. I’ve only had a few ounces of it warm—I put the rest in two mason jars in the fridge for myself and a friend for drinking later today.

It tastes like brown sugar and watermelon. Not artificial watermelon either. Great tea. I will have to see if I prefer it cold.

AllanK

I may cold steep some of this for tomorrow.

JakeB

Personally, I liked it better warm than cold, but it was still really good cold. My friend enjoyed it as well.

This is quite interesting to me! I actually find the texture and taste far better as a cold steeping, however we are all different :)

This is a very enjoyable tea. I’m really liking the toasty flavor and have liked all the Jin Xuans and Milk Oolongs that I have tried. I’m not sure how much of the coffee flavor I am tasting, but frankly it doesn’t matter to me much, because the tea tastes good.

Liquid Proust

Really happy you enjoyed it. Something about roasting at home makes me feel like a scientist :)

I’ll get that one eventually.

I’m onto my third year of drinking loose leaf. It’s been an exciting last year, trying lots of different teas, and finding out which teas I like and don’t like.
