50 Tasting Notes
This tea smelled exquisite while brewing. It had a sweet blueberry hint to it. When tasting, the blueberry flavor was not as strong, but it was still there. Haven’t had a lot of white tea blends. This one looked very delicate and pretty with the small white tea leaves (even thought they are green in color-LOL) and specs of purple/blue. Thanks to Moraiwe for day #4 of 12 Days Christmas 2013, I enjoyed the experience.
Thanks to Isalia for Day #11 of the 12 Days of Christmas 2013. Love the name of the tea. Really had a good time learning about Herbal Infusions. Dan, the owner, has some really good videos loaded. The shipping is really reasonable, I think I am going to place an order. As for this tea, I think I steeped it on too high of a setting. I did a black tea setting but maybe right under boiling would of been better. Thus so, all of the wonderful flavors did not jump out at me but it was an enjoyable cup to start the day.
Day #7 for the 12 Days of Christmas 2013, Thanks to TeaTee! I have been able to drink this at least 4 mornings. I tend to like a nice black cup first thing in the AM and this hit the spot. I drank with just sugar and sugar/cream and I honestly liked best with just sugar. I am not seasoned into what is a good/bad Ceylon because honestly, until recently I have only begun exploring what black tea I was drinking! I liked this. Thanks so much for the generous sample.
Miss B gave this to me along with her day #6 tea for the 12 Days of Christmas 2014. I was sooo excited when I opened this!!! I LOVE Harry Potter! I saved this tea for just the right day, and today was that, relaxing day with my Hubby. The black tea with the note of butter sweetness was good indeed with the buttery taste being the main thing I tasted. It was a sweet butter taste with a tad artificial aftertaste, but still good all the same. Thanks again Miss B, You Rock!
Second dessert tea I have tasted from Simpson Vail. To cut to the chase, this tea tastes just like the apple cinnamon coffeecake I had. The only flavor I really taste with both, is a coffee cake kind of flavor. I tried to taste the strawberry on two different tastings, to no avail. I liked the coffee cake taste. These teas are actually turning my taste buds onto coffee, which is something new and unexpecting. I will never drink coffee the way I do tea, but until now I couldn’t appreciate coffee at all. Having my taste buds develop likes of new and different flavors has been fun.
My neighbor has been drinking more tea with me. She surprised me on Friday with 4 samples of Simpson and Vail, this being one of them. Two of the samples were dessert teas-this cake and then strawberry cupcake. I was surprised how closely they resembled each other. The main flavor I taste in this tea is a cake taste, similar to a coffee cake. I wonder if these teas are pleasing to both coffee/tea drinkers, me being just a tea drinker, the taste is one I am acquiring and starting to enjoy more with each cup. I have had this three times now, finishing off the sample. I am going to be trying more dessert teas for sure.
Day #5 of the 12 Days of Christmas 2013. Thanks to Momo-this was the perfect fit and the neatest looking tea I think I received. The mulberries were so pretty as well as the look of the tea in general. This may sound strange, but it Looked so good, I couldn’t wait to drink it. The taste was just as good as the look and aroma. This is my third DavidsTea and I am starting to see similarities in the natural flavoring added to some-can’t wait to try more.
This is my first Dammann Freres tea! Oh what a treat it was! Thank you so much CelebriTEA for all the effort you put into getting this for Day #3 of the 12 Days of Christmas Tea Swap 2013. It smelled heavenly, tasted just the same, and was an all around delight to experience. I added sugar, but not milk. The flavors really seem to blend well together, when after reading them, I honestly wondered if they would. Thanks so much again.
TeaTiff was so lovely to include this in with her #2 day of tea package. I have had one of the most unique experiences thus far in trying many different teas, with this tea. The Smell of this tea was magnificent. It permeated the bag and called to me to drink it-honestly I felt it did, LOL. After I brewed and tasted, I was still in awe. The part that really stuck with me, was that the tea tasted exactly as it smelled. I know that might sound weird, and yes I will agree it does, but I have no other way to describe it. Very unique. The title states red tea, but the ingredients state white tea with tangerine flowers. Thought that was interesting as well. I have really enjoyed all the thought this tea has ensued upon me! Thanks so much again TeaTiff.
