Oh, sweet malty. This is very good with my apple pie. It has the nice, malty flavour. There is also a sweetness, and it is smooth. Thanks to cookies for the sample.

Flavors: Malt, Sweet

Today I learn that Assam can go with Mexican food. Or I’m just weird. There was the malty scent when I brewed. The flavour seemed a bit darker than I was expecting, but still good. This might be something used in the breakfast blends.

My second darjeeling of today. First off, it pairs nicely with apple pie. There is a lovely scent of blueberries, and bergamot. The flavour is more on the earl grey side, but with nice blueberry taste as well. Having it with the pie was a bit like really good fruit salad.

Flavors: Bergamot, Blueberry

I have this sitting in my waiting-to-be-tried basket. I’ll have to open it later today. It sounds great!

Glad you like it. Happy Birthday!

Lariel of Lórien

Everyone should try this with apple pie.

I love bergamot and berry flavour but for some reason, every time I’ve looked on 52teas at this, it just didn’t register in my brain that this is bergamot with berry flavour. :P So I think I need to try it.

So, on Sunday, I went to the Lupicia store. This tea was one of the samples they offered me. It smelled very much like herbal pumpkins, and the sweet potato. The flavour was like having a warm pumpkin pie. Would have preferred more sweet potato though.

Flavors: Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes

I really want some of this. Going to try and stop in to the store at lunch today!

Lariel of Lórien

They’ll probably still have it as a sample.

I think they only have it until the end of October, fyi

I went today! The sample was the ginger one they advertised, but I picked some of this one up anyway. I like it! :)

One of my Steepster friends told me about this company. I wanted this tea because it sounded interesting. It smells different, like a darker green or dark oolong. The flavour is on the sweet side, with some smoky taste. There is mostly a smooth and mellow cup, and the smoky taste is subtle enough to be present and not overpowering.

Overall, it is very plesant and kinda makes me think of the forest of Mirkwood.

205 °F / 96 °C 2 min, 0 sec

Sounds yummy!

But Mirkwood is scary…Greenwood?

their green teas are really good

Lariel of Lórien

Yes, I meant when it was still the Greenwood.

A birthday chocolate from a couple years ago. Having an orange colour hot cocoa is really pretty cool. I’d forgotten the flavour was not orange as well. However, it is a nice and creamy white chocolate. The sachet is very cute, and Autumn appropriate.

Flavors: Creamy, White Chocolate

Happy Birthday, Lariel! That sounds like a fun hot chocolate! :)

My birthday and lunar eclipse tea. I brewed this and went outside to watch end of the total lunar eclipse. The smells sweet and herbal. There is some vanilla cake frosting taste. Mainly this tea is like herbal cake frosting. Interesting, and goes with my lunar event.

Flavors: Cake, Frosting, Herbs, Vanilla

Happy Birthday! I watched the end of the eclipse, too. It was really pretty.

Happy birthday Lariel!! Hope you have a good one :)

Oh, I get to be first! My evening cup while I watch Sleepy Hollow (the series). The scent is nicely creamy and floral. There is a kinda strong rose flavour, and the vanilla gets a little lost. As it cools, there is more creamy vanilla taste.

It’s interesting, and I want rose ice cream now.

Flavors: Creamy, Floral, Rose, Vanilla

When I went to make this, my first thought was that it smells like a Yunnan tea. There is certainly a baked bread scent, along with the citrus. The flavour is like if I was fresh baked wheat bread with orange zest. Very good, wish I had more.

Flavors: Baked Bread, Bergamot, Citrus, Orange

So you’re saying this pretty much tastes like….lembas bread??

Lariel of Lórien

Hmm…perhaps. More testing is needed.

This was my box of samples from Star. At first, it smelled nicely minty. When I brewed it, the licorice root flavour came out. There is way too much of that root for my taste.

Flavors: Licorice

I haven’t tried it yet and I will keep that in mind.
