687 Tasting Notes
Thanks to Stephanie, I finally get to try this tea. It smells like strawberries, in pie form even. I like the added graham crackers. Certainly smells like there is a pie in my tea mug. The flavour is berry, but I think I taste the hibiscus too. Makes for a good berry tea, but I’m not getting much pie… the cracker seems kinda hidden.
This seems like something that would be good iced, so I’ll try that too.

This reminds me of the other floral tuocha I tried from Teavivre. It’s dark and earthy, with some hinted flower scents. There isn’t much rose flavour in the brew. Mostly earthy, dark, and some leather. Not really what I was expecting, so off to re-steep.
Edit- I did steep too long for my taste. At three minutes, I get more of the floral flavour, with a bit of sweetness, and still earthy. I even get some rose.

So, I ordered a sampler pack… and it came today. This smells pretty good, like malty chocolate. In the flavour I get more fruit, and bread… along with the cocoa. So pretty much it’s chocolate covered fruit, with plums, and some really good bread. Seems a little out of place in the Summer though, I think this is an Autumn morning tea.

My first tea from my first Mandala order. (I like their name, it makes me think of art.) Anyway, this smells like what I associate with pu-erh- dark and earthy.
The flavour has a bit of spice and minerality. It’s a very rich and smooth too. My brewing method is what I would call ‘Western electric kettle- single serving mug’.

Tea-riffic! What a pleasure to have gotten some teas out to you, my friend! The PCII is interesting tea. I just did a session with it the other day. The leather notes are very strong in this one.
I had made some of this for a fellow tea importer/seller. He took a smell, took a sip, took another smell and said “ancient wisdom!” It had reminded him of his favorite part of his college library where they keep all of the old leatherbound books.
Thanks to Cameron B for this sample. It smells so awesome, malty cocoa. Not sure why, but I get a lot of Smores in the flavour. Very good. I’m really liking their black teas.
After having the black blends, I like this one even more.
