drank Cookie by Lupicia

The nice people at Lupicia gave me this sample to try when I visited last week. It smells really nice, kinda like a snickerdoodle. There is a flavour of cookie as well- sweet, buttery, and a bit of spice. This tea makes want to bake and/or get more.

I love this tea!

It’s good, but might be even better in a different season.

Thanks to mj for this sample. Mmm… chocolate. I get a very nice chocolate scent. The berry is more subtle. This reminds me of Della Terra’s strawberry sundae.

I had too many Chinese black teas, so I decided to try this. Though it does remind me a little of Chinese tea. It has a nice sweet, malty scent. The flavour is either malty or honey, with subtle hints of cocoa. Now for another cup and an episode of Star Trek.

Finally got to try all five. This smells malty with citrus notes. The flavour is on the smoky side, which I don’t mind. Since I normally dislike that strongly, it just makes me like Teavivre more. There are also some malty orange flavours.

This was one of the teas waiting for me when I came back from trying tea in SF Chinatown. Since I still don’t have a gaiwan, I brewed this in the Western electric kettle method.

There is a kinda malty cocoa scent in both the dry leaves and the brew. The chocolate comes out more in the flavour. Went well with Ghiradelli minis.

I need to try my sample of this and see where it fits between Gold Tips and the regular version. :D

I haven’t tried the regular version yet, but the Gold Tips has more fabulous sweet potato flavour.

Tried this iced in the store. According to the little recipe card, it had two or three teaspoons of the rock sugar. So it was a bit too sweet for me. It did taste like blackberry and mint though. Decent, but I don’t really want to own any.

drank Melon Oolong by Lupicia

Tasting note number 350. Exciting, isn’t it? The nice people at Lupicia brewed me a sample after I told them it was so recommended to me.

The dry leaves smelled so good. Very fresh and like I was going to pick out melons in the farmers market. I got slightly more honey dew. When brewed the green oolong came out more. It went well with the melon flavour. Different, but I’ll likely get this if I ever go a Lupicia store again, or maybe order online next summer.

They made this when I was at the store for a tea tasting, I might have even suggested it. Smelled very fresh and fruity. The flavour was sweet and did taste nicely like the fruit. Since that is one of my favourite fruits I was glad I got to try the sample.

I also liked watching the store staff brew things by gaiwan.

Star Trek sample time. This smells so good, very sweet and malty. There is a similar flavour, with some hints of yams (subtle.) Delicious, and glad I decided to try it. Now for another cup, and more adventures with the Enterprise.

Having oolong seems to make me want more oolong. So, now I’m drinking this while watching Stargate Atlantis. It smells nicely, a bit maltly and a bit roasty. The flavour is very sweet and creamy. Makes a nice smooth and mellow cup.

Flavors: Creamy, Roasted
