drank Earl Grey Creme by Teavana

For some reason, I prefer the second steep of this to the first. I don’t know if more of the creme comes through on the second steep or what but it’s really my favorite.

Just tried a third and it’s pretty weak, but I only let it steep for 4-5 minutes so maybe that’s why.

This has almost replaced my Matevana as my weekday morning go-to tea. I love how smooth and creamy it tastes with a little brown sugar. I’ve been able to get 3 steeps from it, haven’t tried a fourth yet. Seriously yummy.

drank Rooibos Peach Bloom by Teavana

Um, Teavana, I think you forgot the peach in my bag. Ok, this is the second time I’ve had this, figured I didn’t use enough the first time, but I loaded it up this time and barely a hint of peach. I do get something vegetal, must be the rooibos, but hardly any peach. Won’t order again.

Interesting anytime I’ve had this tea from them I’ve had to cut it with some green tea or Silver Needle (also Teavana) to ease up on the peach flavor…weird. Maybe they need to swap out what they have?

It’s possible you got an old batch. This tea is terrible, it’s the only tea that doesn’t get changed out within a week because it doesn’t sell. Precious white peach or peach tranquility would be better alternatives for low-caffeine peach.

Second steeping: not as chocolatey as the first, but that’s to be expected since there is chocolate in it. I was also afraid after overbrewing my black Cha Yen Thai Tea from Teavana that all blacks would oversteep as quickly so I don’t think I steeped as long as I should have and it ended up on the weaker side. I’ll have to smell the leaves when I get home to see if I think I can get a third.

My husband suggested adding chocolate chips to regain the chocolatey goodness but in my head I protested thinking, ‘if I add chocolate chips then I KNOW it’s not calorie free but if they add them I can pretend.’ I’m such a girl!

In a word? A-MAZING! This is the closests I’ve come to finding a substitute for hot chocolate without the calories. If it was available in decaf I’d be all over it for night too. I’m very sad I only have enough of my sample left for a cup. Hope it resteeps well.

Wow, case of smells great, tastes horrible here. This one followed me home from vacation too and I just don’t think it’s for me. It’s posslbe I made this too strong as I tend to err on the side of more tea but yea…not for me. It’ll be going up for swap soon.

This was another tea that somehow followed me home from vacation. I was so excited to find this at Central Market and not have to pay shipping. Made both myself and my husband a cup with two bags (12 oz mugs), he took his straight, I added a bit of splenda. At times I got the red velvet taste from it, other times less so, but either way, it was yummy and smooth.

I had this at Madhatter’s Teahouse while on vacation in San Antonio. I’ve always been intrigued by jasmine tea but wasn’t sure if liking the smell would translate into liking the taste. I really liked this tea and somehow, 3 oz ended up following me home to Chicago. Adding artificial sweetener made it taste weird though.

I assume a teahouse would know how to properly brew teas and they brought me a little timer but it may have gotten too hot as it was in cast iron and we were sitting in the (yay!) sun. That may have been why it started tasting weird.

I’ve had this twice now, first steep yesterday, second steep today. I was feeling adventurous yesterday and decided to break my Matevana morning routine and try this. TeaGIF to me! Absolutely delish with a little brown sugar splenda blend.

I was looking forward to a second steep today but went by the 150% brew time increase that my local tea house recommends and it came out a little bitter. We just bought a milk frother so added some sugar and frothed milk and turned it into a tea latte and it’s pretty yum, but still not as good as yesterday.

Dare I try a third steep or just move on to Earl Grey Creme?

Hello!
I’m Amanda, and I’m new to the world of tea. I got sucked in by a sample at Teavana and have been exploring ever since. I prefer loose tea but will slum it with the occasional, high quality bag.

I live just outside Chicago with my husband and our dog.
