Backlog:

I love the aroma of this tea. It smells so delightfully cinnamon-y. I don’t generally “love” the aroma of a pu-erh tea, but this one is an exception to that, because the cinnamon seems to work very well with the natural earthiness of the pu-erh. It doesn’t smell like a spicy cinnamon, it’s more of a sweet cinnamon like the smell you’d get when there’s a fruit pie with cinnamon baking. That kind of sweet cinnamon smell.

The cinnamon is smooth and rich … which is an unusual way to describe cinnamon, because it isn’t what I would normally categorize as a smooth spice. But with this tea, the flavor comes across as a true, rich cinnamon flavor like something you’d find in the top-notch spice shops. This is not your average grocery store cinnamon.

The pu-erh is mellow and earthy, but again, the earthiness here works to the cinnamon’s advantage. This is a really harmonious combination of flavors.

The early infusions were mostly about the cinnamon, but as I continued to steep I noticed the cinnamon began to wane and more of the pu-erh began to emerge. Deep, smooth and flavorful. Not bitter or astringent.

A really lovely tea experience.

The reason I’m no longer writing for SororiTea Sisters is because I am now the Mad Tea Artist for 52Teas:

I’ll still be posting occasional reviews on teas here on Steepster, mostly backlogged reviews because I’m way behind on getting reviews posted. That’s why I’m keeping two accounts active at the current time – so that I can get those backlogged reviews posted.

My favorite teas are Yellow Teas with most Oolong teas at a close second. As far as “flavored” teas go, I love Earl Grey, Chocolate and Jasmine teas.

I also am intrigued by flavored teas with an unusual or unique flavor combination, which is why I was very excited to be the Mad Tea Artist of 52Teas!
