I have had this one in my cupboard forever. It is certainly a nice tea, nothing wrong with it. The black base is smooth, strong but not bitter and I definitely taste the fruits. Maybe I need to…..?add sugar…..?try it plain…?add in some frothed milk……I like it well enough, but not sure i find it very remarkable….. Well, I have a tin, so will get the chance to try it plenty more times, plenty more ways……trying to drink as much tea as possible while I clean house and await a FedEx delivery…..(not tea unfortunately)……..

One kind of good thing after taking a bit of a tea break, is when you look in your cupboards ( and drawers and shelves and….)…. You have a lot of nice tea you kind of forgot about! Like living in a mini tea shoppe…..

Anyway, 3 tsps in 500 mls in the breville….a few rock sugars and frothed light cream…..yummy! It does taste like banana and cream and a bit of milk chocolate – very nice!! I need some energy to get to the gym…..I really just want to stay home and read and play with Lily cat and drink tea……hit the Boxing Day sales early and got some great BoGo deals at lush…..the lady in front of me spent $350 – crazy!! I did not do anywhere near that kind of damage but still got some nice stuff…. This yummy desert tea is another very nice treat…..

Last tea of the night. It has been a nice addition to my Christmas Day to drink tea with all the other Steepsters! I like this tea and love ginger, but while this has good flavour, I would like more….checked the fridge and sadly, no honey…..must buy some tomorrow along with fresh ginger which would make this tea even better…..

Reading the new John Grisham and debating Boxing Day shopping….lush has a BoGo for Christmas things…..think I am going to get up early and check out some of the sales. Goodnight Steepsters!

I see I tried this tea before and didnt really love it. It’s not really a Christmas tea, but I am craving caramel, so wanted this one next. Added frothed light cream…..and starbucks caramel syrup. Who knows what the actual tea tastes like now, but this combo is very creamy smmoth sweet caramel – yum!

Enjoying the tea with a bit of #83 dark chocolate from Thomas Haas. Thomas Haas is a vancouver pastry chef and chocolatier. I really enjoyed my visits to his chocolate shop this season. The place was always packed, but his helper “elves” were giving out cookies while we waited in line, Thomas was singing….very cheery atmosphere….and of course…..you were surrounded by chocolate! Anyway this caramel tea, with cream and an extra caramel shot is a de-lish treat.

OMGsrsly

Ooh, that’s a good idea. I have some flavoured syrup in the fridge I could use.

Merry Christmas everyone! It is fun to read all the tasting notes – my goodness, I didn’t realize there were so many Christmas teas! I have started the day with “marzipan” from Nikaido. This is a black tea and so I added a little bit of frothed light cream and a couple of rock sugars – probably wouldnt have needed the sugar as it is sweet already.

It tastes like marzipan! – sweet, creamy and a little bit spicy. It helps that I am having it with Christmas stollen, which I love, with a marzipan center! Enjoying it in the giant davids tea red sweater mug – lovely tea to start Christmas Day.

OMGsrsly

Ohh, Stollen and marzipan tea? Awesome! Merry Christmas!

Lilysmom

It was tasty – I recommend the combo!! Merry Christmas to you too!!

I thought I would love this more – I will have to give it another try. The dry leaf smell is just like peppermint patties, which I love. And the tea is very minty. I don’t get much white chocolate? And it is oily, as others have noted. I think I like a plain strong mint tea, maybe doctored up with extra peppermint syrup or mint stir sticks, better than this. But, only had a quick cup, will have to try it again.

drank Sugar and Spice by DAVIDsTEA

I like this one more than I thought I would. It does taste like spice cake and gingerbread, both things I love. I bought 30 grams initially, then repurchased 100g (took 50g to work, left 50g at home) and then….just bought another 100 g tin…..it has been my recent “go- to” tea, when I want a pleasant tasting caffeinated black tea. I sometimes do tea swaps at work – I also bought our dietician and ward clerk 25 grams of this each to try ( one liked it, one didnt ).

I made up a liter in the breville, so will be sipping it through the morning….with a bit of rock sugar and frothed milk – yum, spice cake!

It seems so cold out! I feel worn out from the work week, and not very motivated to tackle the very long list of weekend chores. Hopefully, this tea perks me up!!

I’ve been away from Steepster for a while. Just wasn’t enjoying hot tea much over the summer. And I was buying too much, but when I stopped shopping….well, a big part of the fun is shopping, ordering, trying new teas…..

Anyways, cool weather, and back on tea…..I love anything mint, peppermint, spearmint, I have peppermint candles, peppermint chocolate patties ( in the freezer-extra good!)…..made a big mug of this spearmint tea…..added in frothy cream and a hammonds peppermint stir stick…..yum! I am not sure i can fairly rate this tea, with all the extra mint, sugar and cream I added…..but it’s good like this! Cool, creamy, sweet! I have had it plain, and it is a good pure spearmint…..but quite a treat with all my extra “add ins!”….

I almost bought some harneys peppermint herbal at chapters today…..wish I had…..then I could compare these two mint teas…..well another day tomorrow….

drank Mango Fruit Punch by DAVIDsTEA
54 tasting notes

Backlogging from yesterday, which was a hot one, filled with lots of iced tea.

I made this with about 10-12 tsps of “tea” in the 2 L DT takeya, hot water, then ice, then put the infuser back in the coolish pitcher while it sits for a while in the fridge. Also added in some frozen mango.

Yum!! Wish I didnt like this so much as it is heavy and expensive! But, it was so nice and mango-ey! I had ordered some herbal mango from H&S (still waiting) after trying their sampler and I think this is better than theirs (H&S was abit bitter, but still very tasty, as I ordered a tin).

I am liking many of the Davids’s fruit herbals for iced tea! And, just many iced teas….trying to decide what I need to re-buy from DT…..tropicalia, mango fruit punch, pink passionfruit, and possibly strawberry rhubarb parfait, which is chilling in the fridge for later today….I like them all….luckily, I have lots left, but….finally warm and sunny days, perfect for fruity iced tea…..

So, I got a “teazer” sampler pack of this, which I think is the only option for purchase at herbal republic other than buying a full tin/big bag (100 gram minimum? Unless you get the teazers, I think.) Not sure, as I only dashed in there on lunch break, not much time to chatter. It was about 5+ tablespoons in the sample teazer pack.

I think I have been using too little tea in my iced blends so I dumped the whole teazer into my takeya, steeped for about ?10 mins in boiling water then added cold water and ice to make about 1.5 – 1.75 litres, then chilled in the fridge. I even tossed in some frozen berries to the mix.

Having a big glass now over ice with a tiny bit of Sonoma simple syrup. It’s good. Very fruity, very berry, very juicey. The more I drink it the more I like it. I think I taste more sweet strawberry, than tart berry, but it is nice. Will definitely go back for a tin ( or bag, however they sell it ) and add this one to my summer iced tea rotation!

OMGsrsly

They will sell my weight if you bring in a tin, as far as I’m aware. Or you can get the bags on the shelf. I need to refill my tin this week. Totally out. I usually use 2 tbsp per litre of finished iced tea, so what you did sounds really good. :)

OMGsrsly

Err. By weight. I don’t think there’s enough tea in the store to sell my weight of it. ;)

Lilysmom

LOLOL….you must LOVe that tea if your buying your weight! ( I am sure you are a fine weight, but it’s still a lot of tea!)……what do you want to bet there is someone who has done that on steepster?….."er, yes….I’d like about 140 lbs of that fruity tea…..yes, I have, 400 tins with me…..what? ….I don’t have a problem, just stocking up!) …..lol….
( Well, if you do buy your weight…..leave a little in the store for me? )

OMGsrsly

Haha! I will try! :)

Lilysmom

Made a full takeya pitcher of this today, iced with some frozen berries added. Yum – so good and refreshing. Kicking my rating up and tempted to make another pitcher right now…..so berry tasty!

OMGsrsly

I’m drinking this one right now too, and I’m also researching how much “other stuff” I need to put into it in order to get my Zoku pop maker to release the finished product. :)

Lilysmom

Now I want a Nana’s Berry Garden zoku Popsicle too….

Bio

Vancouver born, and love the city. Fairly new to tea, I found Davids Tea in early 2013 and that is where everything started. So far, my favourites are flavoured black teas, I am on a serious hunt for the perfect black caramel. I also like fruit herbals and tisanes. So far, I have mixed and limited experience with white tea and oolongs – the jury is still out. I don’t like green tea; maybe that will change.

I have tried most of the Vancouver area shops, David’s, Murchies, Granville Island Tea, UTM, and more. Just starting to branch out and order more on-line. My initial experiences with Harney&Sons have been great, I drink their raspberry herbal tea all the time. I like black tea as a hot latte and herbal & tisanes iced.

I work as a research nurse, with cancer patients. Sometimes stressful but rewarding work and tea is a nice break for me. I love my cat ( that’s Lily) shopping, candles, lush baths, reading, cooking, home reno stuff and going for a relaxing massage. I like checking out new tea shops and learning more about tea. I try to go to the gym and swim when not working or drinking tea.
