335 Tasting Notes
I fell in love with black currant tea from a deli chain called Jason’s Deli. They offered an amazing iced black currant tea, real full on the mouth. Thankfully, I found a replacement! The tea is lush in black currant flavor. It tastes real, not artificial. I have only had it iced. It’s truly an uplifting tea, made with assam. I am a fan, and I will be buying this tea up!
Preparation
Eh, it was a ok tea. I wasn’t much a fan. I like rose water in desserts, I like the smell of roses, but I don’t like a straight up rose tea. It wasn’t a strong rose taste, but it was too much for me. It seemed to be a nice white tea, without the rosy kisses, I would of enjoyed it.
Preparation
Blueberry goodness! This tea is very interesting. This was my first experience with the twig tea. I can’t believe how much of that tea plant is usable! The blueberry isn’t overwhelming. I got 3 brews from this. I don’t think I would buy this again, but I am interested in having the green kukicha by itself. I agree, the blueberry comes off artificial. I don’t know if the flavoring was.
Preparation
Buttered Popcorn Tea. That is what this lush tea could also be called. I had it iced today, and it was just lovely. Slightly sweet and creamy goodness. Toasted coconut, yum. I am going to get this GM sample deal everyone has mentioned. I would buy this tea again!
Preparation
You know what is massively sad? I LOVE buttered pop corn jelly bellies, but 1 of only 2 green teas I can’t stand is Gen Mai Cha. But I think I’d like it better if they left out the toasted rice. Ok, sorry, that was really random. A buttered popcorn tea doesn’t bother me, but when it’s supposed to be coconut? And iced. Weird.
Lemon myrtle and lemongrass are yummy in this. I drank this iced, just wonderful. Versatile being good both hot and cold. It’s good for one extra brew. The second brew, the lemongrass stands out more, and I used boiling water and brewed it for 2 minutes the second go. I think I might like the second brew more the the first brew! I would buy this again.
Preparation
Refreshing and yes, sweet! I love the background of a kiss of sage with mint, it’s quite delightful! I usually don’t like chamomile, but it’s barely there, yet it’s nice. Another winner of herbal teas from TG. I made it iced, just the perfect relaxing tea on a sticky summer night before bed. I’m a fan. Next to try from TG is Pure Joy and Pure Happiness. Just loving their herbals!
Preparation
I bought the 100g pack for only $4. What a deal this tasty tea is! I drank it iced, it was perfection. Amber liquor, tastes better than it smells. I have had more expensive houjicha, and this one still holds up! Great tea both hot and cold. I am a fan!
Preparation
It is TG’s cheapest Japanese tea, and I got try a sample. I made the water hotter and brewed it longer than what’s on the package. After doing that, I had to change my review! This tea is very yummy once I changed that! It’s good for a second brew, too. I would buy again.
Preparation
This may or may not need a longer steeping time… if you have any left, you may want to play around w/ less and hotter water. Den’s Tea (which I trust highly for the steeping parameters for my Japanese greens) suggests a heaping tsp (2g) in 4oz boiled water for a 30 second steep. Let me know what you think!:) P.S. I have family in Rockford, cool!:)
A nice breakfast blend tea. I usually prefer Irish Breakfast blends, because they seem to have more assam. I went out to try this blend. It will wake you up, nice strong flavor. Though I still prefer Irish, I don’t think I would buy this tea again.
